If you earned £22k for 2011/12 and about the same expected for 2012/13 then about £28pw. If the income was £23k, then about £21pw.hi can anyone help my other half works 40hrs pw i work 16hrs pw we have a 4 year old child no child care to pay and im sure we earn between us 22/23k a year we get 26.00 a week in tax credit a week at the moment will it go down or worse stop?0 -
No. The disability element is for disabled workers only where the disabled worker is working 16 hours or more and deemed as at a disadvantage of getting a job.
Why does it say on my tax credit breakdown...."you qualify for the disability element of WTC"
My husband is disabled but it is me that works the 22 hrs?0 -
So confusing.
Can anyone help?
My partner works all the hours under the sun and his income is expected to be 45k
I stay at home and look after 4 children, 2 are disabled, one of those children gets high rate care component
other child is on medium rate
I get carers allowance £2888.60.
I can see from the budget child benefit is safe for now. But i can't seem to get any idea of what will happen with tax credits.
Thank you0 -
It'll go up a bit (asuuming your partner's income hasn't changed).So confusing.

If your husband gets the highest care component then you will still qualify for a disability element of wtc. I'd suggest you check though that it hasn't been recorded as you having a disability according to tax credit information. It could be an error.0 -
Does anyone know how they work out the Child tax credits?
I have been unemployed for a while but will be starting work f/t in May. Will they base my tax credits on last years money (income support) or will they base it on what i will be earning this year?
Hope i've made sense
Thank you0 -
Both. The previous year is used initially. But if income changes significantly it is adjusted. From April "significant" mean goes up by £10,000 or down by £2500.serendipity79 wrote: »Does anyone know how they work out the Child tax credits?
