Hi
Back in January I paid £150 in 2 instalments to TV Licensing. I have received a license for my TV dated Aug 2012 to Aug 2013, I paid last year so Im assuming the current one is covered up until August.
Can you please help me, as I need to know where I stand. They are going to call me back on Friday but I just need to know if they will be fining me for not having a license. Even know I have a hard copy of the license.
Thanks MSE Peeps.
Regards

Why dont you ring them?
Tell then you have a license and youve paid.
They should take the license reference number from you.
Tell them you have hard copies and if they pay you then you can even scan/fax it to them.
Dont get off the phone until this is resolved.
Once it is resolved, keep in mind that sometimes you will still receive a letter, but to ignore it because it happens for about a month (auto generated).0 -

Unless you've wilfully refused to pay, you should have to worry. The method of paying for a licence is pretty complex, especially as it depends on whether you already have one and want to go paying in instalments, or whether you started from scratch.
If there's an issue with payment, then only TVL can advise, but they really want the money, so if there is a problem, they'll do the math and provide you with the details to get it back in order. Pursuing you for not having a licence would be counter-productive for them, as they would have to tell a court that there was an anomaly, and you would state you expected them to know how to charge and you paid them what they asked for - so there was no intent, even though there may have been a period of non-licenced viewing. As long as this is regularised, there won;t be an issue.0
