The house next door

Just being nosey really. The house next door is up for sale. The lady who lived there has gone into a home. The house is not modern to say the least and needs upgrading and work doing?

The house is for sale at a price to reflect that? After a few days of being on the market there were quite alot of viewings. I was talking to the estate agent outside as we got to know each other, we vaguely knew each other, and he said there was alot of interest and they would definetely sell it and a decision would be made next week which is now this week.

A few mins ago he turned up with another viewer and said they had had lots of offers and it would be decided next week now.

Does that mean out of all the people who viewed last week nobody made a good offer and so he was giving someone else a chance to view. Or does it mean that he was just giving everyone a chance to look before the owner decided?

I know I am being nosey but I am getting interested in all this house selling lark and wondered why they have delayed the decision who to sell it to?

    Afraid it doesn't (make sense, that is) - assuming a "depo" is a deposit, that is not how the property market works, either now or at any time in living memory. As you should know, having had a "relevant job" a 'depo' is pretty meaningless - in an estate agent house-buying transaction, normally the only thing that has any legal standing is exchange of contracts.

    Perhaps you were thinking of auctions?:)

    the house is up for 90 thousand presumably nobody last week made an offer near that then.

    True, I know in my area ATM, homes that need refurbed, people are offering 25-30k under asking (and that with a decent price to start with)
