    What I would do while also answering yr questions:

    1. Try removong/resetting USB controller/devices as above.
    2. Use System restore (From accessories/system tools), and select a date if available, prior to when you believe the issue first occurred
    3.Update the BIOS, which you can download from either the motherboard or PC manufacturer website - without knowing exactly what make/model PC and/or motherboard you have, not possible to give you instructions for BIOS updates.
