Good Morning everyone, bit overcast and misty at the moment but hopefully it will brighten up a bit.
Well I have been foraging in my cupboards and making all sorts of things from them.I found a blackcurrant jelly at the back of one and remembered that I had some blackberries in the freezer so last night I made the jelly up and used some rather stale looking sponge cake to make a trifle with once tha jelly and sponge had cooled down I mixed in the blackeberries and left it to set.Once set I had a rather lonely packet of vanilla blancmange left over so I made that up and stuck it on the top so now in my fridge I have a blackberry?currant trifle with vanilla topping and it looks fine so that's pudding sorted for a few days.I have got some sausages out and some mash from the freezer so dinner tonight will be sausage mash and onion gravy with blackcurrent trifle to follow.Definitely no shopping for me till the week-end hopefully.
All the huge pile of photos are sorted now and in separate piles to be given to their respective recipients i.e.both DDs and my sis-in-law and I have some to send off to my brother in France.I have been scouring the web this morning looking for old friends whom I had lost touch with, as some of the photos are of them and are really good.
A bit more of the ironing mountain has been put away and I have some more to do shortly.
DGS Danny said he may come round today to have a dig in my garden but I won't hold my breath Bless him he is full of enthusiasim, but gardening really isn't his thing. But if he turns up then I shall feed him, and set him loose with the strimmer and he can hack his way through the jungle at the bottom. He has a couple of weeks off and he is so used to working he's not quite sure of what to do with himself
Yesterday DGS Henry (10) came out of school with a big black bruise on his nose What with his bump on the head last week, and the bash on the nose this week I am wondering what will be the third thing. He is a real rufty-tufty little boy who could play 'Just William' as he's always covered in mud and bruises from football and climbing and riding his bike He seems to be totally fearless and the more dangerous things he can find to do then he will have a go.His brother gentle Jack is far more cautious and rarely gets a knock at all.
Tomorrow I have another dental run with DGS Ben in the morning , as he is due a check up.
My life seems to be full of trips to the orthodontist, dentist and Drs with the boys at the moment Still 6 weeks this Satuday I have a week off in Dorset, so it will be nice to relax and not think of school runs etc.
<<Hugs to those in need>> and I hope the sun is shining where ever you are on what your doing
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Morning all
Misty start here but turning out nice now.
Moorhen - I play this game with my work kids too! It's fun but soooo messy!we are doing Spaghetti Challenge, where the pupils have to build tall towers out of spaghetti and marshmallows.
DD - good luck today
So tired today, stayed in bed an extra hour (thank god for dry shampoo! :rotfl:).
I'm off to collect the naughty work kids shortly and have some lovely clearing out jobs for them to do for few hours. Then our big big boss is visiting us for staff meeting.
Tonight I need to write a small presentation for uni, and tidy the house. Made a start on the tidying last night but got distracted!
OS wise - 2 x portions of veggie chilli put in freezer, lunch made, WM will go on tonight, tidying, hoovering.
Have a good day all

morning all
needing matchsticks big time today. woke up at 3am in a panic. about what i'm not entirely sure but had a stressful afternoon yesterday. probably just a fall out from that and worrying about the baby. no sure why i am worrying because the sickness appears to be here to stay. once i got over my panic, the sickness started
eventually fell back to sleep around 5.30 and woke again at 7.30. wiped out isnt the word today. trouble is tiredness makes me feel more sick. tried going back to sleep this morn but couldnt drop off.
ds is at nursery. tempted to leave him for the day. he normally comes home with me about 2/2.30. my friend will either drop him off or hubby will leave work a bit earlier to get him. just feel guilty doing it as it is a long day for him. will see how i feel later.
nothing really happening here today. house was left tidy last night. have a menu plan for the week and its chicken pie tonight. have sorted all bills out and budgeted money accordingly. hubby was worrying about it so put his mind at rest.
didnt get the washing done yesterday as ds decided to throw a big strop. he doesnt do it often but when he does, he really does. think he was tired as he went straight to sleep at 7. hasnt been sleeping til 7.45/8 lately. he also ate me out of a house yesterday so think he must be growing (finally :j) he's almost 3 and not long gone into 2-3yrs clothes. as for his feet... well he's been a 6 since forever :rotfl:
anyone have any idea why my dishwasher has stopped cleaning glasses?? it is leaving what looks like dried weetabix over them... we dont eat weetabix
have cleaned it out etc but still doing it and only on glasses...
dundeedol - hope all goes well at drs.
beth - i'm with your dd on that one. we have kept all of ds' baby things and i mean everything  clothes, all his shoes, toys, moses basket, highchair, car seats, his swinging chair, jumperoo (best invention ever!!), his bumbo and even cot bedding etc.dont think i can bring myself to get rid of them if they arent needed but we really need the space
tappers - have a good hols
hugs to all who need them and all those that are MIA come and say hi :hello: have a good day all"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Morning everyone
Quick post from me. Been up bank and shuffled some money about. Damn I've completely forgotten I need to pop up supermarket <blonde moment alert>
Need to quickly whizz round the house with the vac.....it's now a daily job with the dog <sigh> and then off to have lunch with my mum before heading off to meet a friend for a walk. Not taking Luna with me as she's still getting used to walking on a lead and I don't want to over exercise her.
OS um.....BM is about to finish.....no idea what's planned for tea
I fancy some fish actually will see what H thinks.
Dundeedoll hugs and positive vibes for you xxx

LOULOU,
I can understand you keeping all baby stuff as you'll need it for the one you are expecting, :T but DD2 and SiL2b have deceided that having 2 is enough so they don't plan on having anymore, mmhhh best laid plans and all that !
I must admit that I kept some of DD2's baby stuff, the little red trike she had when she was 3 is now being used by DGD2.
DUNDEEDOLL, Hope all goes well for you, pozzi vibes.0 -
Morning everybody,hope all is well.
My lurgy seems to be a lot better this morning, thank goodness, and I had an uninterruped sleep, just a bit woozy still. Thanks for your good wishes :A
Before I forget,DundeeDoll hope the result is ok at the docs.
The sun seems to be coming out so thats nice, makes me quite envious when I see the temps you had yesterday RR,still I know you must be envious of our rain.Looking at pics on the news last night of the parched earth, unbelievable when this morning I jumped over muddy patches and tyre tracks filled with water walking the dog.
Actually thats not quite true-I set off to take him when DS1 came and took over in case I still wasnt well.He really enjoyed taking him out yesterday-said it gave him a break from the computer.By that time my neighbour had spotted me so she came out for a chat.
Need to sort the fridge out today after being MIA in the kitchen.DH brought a chippy tea home with him last night,so some stuff hasnt been used up that should have. There is def a pack of stir fry veg that will be well past its best, and some sausages need using today.
Might do some sewing later,DS1 wants me to make a taggieblanket for his gf sister, her baby is due anyday and they don't take long.I got sent a photo the other day of one I made last year -baby was sucking furiously on one of the ribbons :rotfl:
Miffy-Stitch club sounds interesting, theres nothing like that round here.
Lou-hope the nausea eases.x

Good afternoon all O/S-ers!
Havent been on for a while as been fairly snowed under with work & new home.
Good news for me is that I've finally got a washing line up outside and on Sunday had the most tremendous joy (hubby still thinks i'm weird for it) at being able to wash a load and peg out :T Our back garden is like most where the wind can just blow through each house creating a massive drying force. Our old house was all secluded and closed in so it took ages to dry!:(
Going to finish work early today as need to try and get on top of massive mountain of ironing that isnt doing itself. Got some prog's to catch up with on Sky+ so really looking forward to that.
O/S wise - eating HM chilli, and going to attempt to hoover all through the house too so will hopefully burn some calories whilst at it (lord knows I need too!!!)
Been working so hard lately at 2 other jobs and not sleeping much due to new house/new noises etc so feeling pretty whacked. Hoping a good ole housework session will cheer me up.
Very proud of myself for getting into a little habit of washing up the dishes before bed (a concept not unfamiliar to most I would imagine) we used to do some and leave the others till the next night  but I got fed up of coming down in the morning and being greeted by a mess.
I hope all that need it get some warmth and hugs in their life
Lou xBut I want a golden goose daddy and I want it right NOW!!!!!
Yes Verucca dear. :rotfl:0 -
Afternoon everyone and thank you for the congratulations
I can't wait to graduate and get started in the job now, so excited to get on with my life.
redruby i really hope people will pay attention to the likely hose pipe ban and maybe, just maybe, stop being so wasteful with water in the long term
justwantahouse nothing beats waking up to a clean, dirty dish free kitchen!
I'm on a long break between lectures atm, going to do some exercise and revision. No idea what to do for dinner, OH is over so I will ask him what he fancies and whack him if he says he doesn't mind!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
