Only 1.70% including bonus to 30 June 2014 but now one of the best of it's kind out there. I've left a pound there for insurance.
And those who had the foresight to open earlier issues (not me) that are now closed can do the same thing to switch to
issue 4 - 3.06% variable up to 30th November 2013
issue 5 - 2.9% variable up to 31st January 2014
issue 6 - 2.75% variable up to 28th February 2014
issue 7 - 2.5% variable up to 28th February 2014
issue 8 - 2.2% variable up to 28th February 2014
issue 9 - 2.36% variable up to 28th February 2014
issue 10 - 2% variable up to 31st March 2014I came, I saw, I melted0 -
You can "upgrade" a NetSaver to the current issue online now, if you haven't got a better idea.
You may still need the minimum £1000 opening balance.
I'm a bit surprised that Issue 11 is still on sale, because after tomorrow it'll have less than 12 months to run."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0 -

I'm always mystified by the way Derbyshire show interest transactions, with the Net amount (rather than Gross) in the 'In' column and tax paid in the 'Out'.Stompa0

Top marks to the Derbyshire Building Society for the ease in which it lets its customers upgrade their old NetSaver to the latest Issue (Issue 11 - 1.70%), I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to do it.
After seeing post#41 by Rollinghome I decided to upgrade from an old issue to issue 11 yesterday, logged into the account today to check and its showing as issue 11.
Makes life a lot easier when they let you redesignate your old account this way, saves you having to close and re-open the account and you get to keep the same account details.Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -

I was going to update to issue 11 but now it seems the latest is issue 12 @ 1.40%!0

The other thing to say is that Derbyshire have been very good at not reducing the variable rate during the bonus period on all these different issues, at a time when interest rates have been falling.
They compare favourably with the likes of M&S and the Post Office who like to play the game of attracting people in with a good savings rate which they reduce shortly afterwards.I came, I saw, I melted0
