Well, a good result for you .... but remember that someone else has been paying almost half your gas bill for the last 10 years! So perhaps as an EON customer I'm not as happy with their decision!

Who exactly has been paying my bill for the last 10 years.
That's nonsense, if you don't like the fact that I have been treated fairly for their mistake then find another supplier.
  • You have been paying a proportion of your bill for 10 years,if only I could pose this question to the regulator I would .Are Eon going to repay ALL the money they forgot to charge you, back to the Grid. This sort of thing is happening throughout the industry.Eon being an electricity producer are less interested in accounting on the gas side of supply.British Gas are just the same ,they are more interested in the gas side (because they imput large ammounts to the Grid, then they are the electric side. They pay much more interest in theft of gas than they do to theft of electric. Anyway, well done Johnthunder, you ve done well out of the Germans.

If the meter hasnt been billed right for all this time despite read in the meter frequently, its their fault and they know it. It would be worse to hold customers responsible for the many gross billing errors suppliers can make.

These companies have contingencies for loss. They have to since there has been a massive difference between billed energy to customers as opposed go suppliers.

They built an industry full of holes, until they get it working behind the scenes customers shouldn't carry the can. Instead, someone should kick these companies to save money by getting it right, 11 years is ridiculous but its not uncommon.

Its one for elexon to consider.

In terms of elec, over 14 months is crystallised the grid loses out unless the supplier can I'll it into the current year but that then causes spikes in the industry peer-to-peer reporting so it gets left on the grids side. So, the question is what do distributors do? There doesn't seem to be much out there but some distributors have approached suppliers to settle private losses at times which suggests the regulation side just doesn't have control.

Do the gas side apply a spread of missed consumption? Given all the switching it would be a very complex process but not impossible on both fuels. I just think distributors swallow it all...so its their boards fault for accepting such losses when they should be pushing for industry change.

Do you know suppliers pay nothing to the radio teleswitch licencing, the distributors pay it all? To me, this industry and some of the players are still in the 80's...they are only just upgrading to modern systems many years behind banking, insurance, manufactering, etc...
