How can they get my telephone number

Options
Have had a few letters from Roxburghe debt collectors regarding a private parking ticket I received last year. I have been doing the standard ignoring them tactic, which is proving wonderfully successful... but today they have sent me a text asking me to call them. I know they could have acquired my address from the DVLA (that never seems right to me), but how could they have got hold of my telephone number? As far as I am aware the DVLA do not have my telephone number.

Many thanks in advance.:j

Try googling yourself and see what comes up. If you are listed anywhere the phone number may be available.

Anyway, just ignore this too. If they call you, tell them you owe them nothing, you do not wish to speak to them and are logging their contacts as being harassment, then hang up before they can reply. I doubt you will hear from them again....

have you ever applied for your road tax online? if so it asks for a phone number perhaps if you have, thats how they have got it?anyway they are stupid zero powers,,a little bit of heavy breathing or better still ignore, that way they wont realy know who is on the end of the phone and they will crawl back under that rock they came from.

Try looking up yourself on 192.com, see if you appear on there.

Which is precisely why I never give my number on such web forms unless it's really necessary (provide a false one if they insist).

07123 456789 is a good mobile number to use if sites insist on having a mobile number for no reason other than to sell.

I went onto 192.com and looked up "give them FA" and it came up, along with a home number of 01234 567890
