TMobile Broadband

Hi guys, hoping somebody can help......
I had a 2 year broadband contract which ended in Feb last year, I moved address and have recieved a debt collection letter saying I owe £88. Called TMobile, who said it was because I did not officially cancel the contract, it was carried on! on further investigation, I did not cancel the direct debit until May - meaning they have had around £140 for a service that had not been used since the end of Feb! Can they do this? Surely this means they owe me money, not the other way round?

read your contract, the terms of all contracts state a minimum term of XX months and the contract will continue until you specifically advise the network otherwise.

Whether you used the service they provided doesn't come into it, they were providing based on the original contractual obligations which you signed up to and will continue until you instruct the network otherwise.

Cancelling your direct debit is not the way to cancel a contract, you will either need to call or write your request in (depends on network rules)
