Hi guys, I'm Paul, I'm new here.
Not too sure if you've been following this story in the news but Game (who own gamestation) are likely to be going into administration and have been given an ultimatum to find money. Because of this there's a huge fire sale on where games and consoles are going for ridiculously cheap prices. It's sad to see the company go from the high street but its great news for us shoppers! :T
Pre owned PS3s are going for £99.99!
It won't let me post a link for some reason because I am new, but just head over to their sites.
ALSO, it may be worth looking to spend up any loyalty card points you have at GAME or Gamestation because they could be worth nothing if there's no buyout.

Welcome Paul
Having bought a console and games from them online last year I had points to use up before the off. I can't see any rescuing buyer keeping the loyalty scheme, more like they'd roll everyone back to zero. At Game.co.uk if you know you've got lots of points they can all be spent on the one purchase to clear the card. I don't know if you can do the same in the actual shops.
So if you've ever owned one, get logging in, follow the instructions to link your reward card to your email address unless they did it for you automatically when they redesigned - if it's the latter you thankfully won't need to remember the number - and get spending, even if you just have to buy console accessories like Live membership extensions or MS Points, or another pad and get a decent discount off those. Just don't let them go to waste!0 -
not great news if you have your Xbox warranty with them.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0

In my experience it doesn't make too much difference - when I returned my xbox for a failed graphics card under the Gamestation warranty, they took weeks to "fix" it, only for the same problem to recur just after the 90 day warranty on the fixed unit expired :mad:0 -
I saw this story on another website last Thurs or Fri, checked the Game website and literally everything (with the possible exception of Barbies Horseriding) was sold out, no £99 PS3's going!Useful is beautiful0

Does anyone know how this may affect store credit? i.e. a gift voucher?
I have about £100 in store credit (through trade ins). If the group went into Administration would my credit be wiped out... I would rather not spend it just yet if possible?
Also does anyone know the date that the final administration decision will be made?0 -

Whilst the stores remain open, you should be ok to spend, but if they cease trading, probably have to join the queue of people claiming money back (chances of that would be very slim)
So better to spend while they are open, never know a buyer may be found to keep game open.
Also may be best to buy as soon as, once you have bought something and they do go into administration and your item goes faulty, no chance of returning it back to game. So maybe software is best way to spend it onMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

Thanks for that! Yeah I've always tried to avoid them but sometimes it's too convenient to pop in and pay the extra quid when you're in town or on the high street just to get it there and then.
Pretty funny article on the situation! (this no linking thing is annoying!)

It doesn't surprise me. I managed to bag a Kinect with Kinect Adventures for £79.99. Went in the other day and they'd up the price to £129.99.
Shame, but online does indeed rule.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0
