had a similar problem, bought a cookery book and wasn't able to download it to my PC, only tablet, because of some special way of looking at the recipes.
The device you can't download to is greyed out, in these cases

I never for a moment thought I'd get into this book (not my bag usually) but once I'd started, I couldn't put it down. It's American so set in the US, naturally, but with a lot of reference to other countries. The story is written by an author whose style is "contemporary fantasy, paranormal romance, and contemporary romance" and I would say that pretty much sums up the way this book straddles all those areas.

Characters become very likeable (you may even grow to love them a little), storyline is gripping, and as it's set in the modern age the 'paranormal' element of the book is very well thought out and almost plausible. It reminded me a little of the BBC series 'Being Human'; similar lines.

Once I finished this, I did something uncharacteristic and bought (paid for!) the second book in the series. And last night I bought and started the third...

Will You Join in Our Crusade?: The Invitation Of The Gospels Unlocked By The Inspiration Of Les Miserables
    Steve Mann (Author)

The world's all-time bestseller meets a twenty-first century musical icon. In this seven-week course, suitable for group use or personal reflection, Steve Mann skilfully interweaves the Gospel narrative with the story of Les Miserables. Daily devotional readings are built around seven key spiritual themes - grace, responsibility, truth, compassion, fellowship, darkness and reconciliation. These are complemented by weekly study material tied in to the 2012 movie release. This is an ideal resource for those looking for a Lent study but works equally well at any time of year.

And before anyone makes the obvious connection, yes, I am the author. I hope this doesn't contravene any guidelines - the book isn't self-published - but if it does then mods please remove.

Boys For Sale: A Novel about Human Trafficking

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Boys-For-Sale-Book-Trafficking-ebook/dp/B009TPTB8E/ref=sr_1_17?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1390834169&sr=1-17&keywords=for+sale

More than 2,000,000 children worldwide are bought and sold each year to be used as slaves.

This may be just one of their stories....

When his parents agree to send Tavi off to a special school in the city that promises wealth and success, they have no idea that they are handing their son over to real life human traffickers.

Tavi's excitement soon turns into horror as he learns what kind of a life he has been forced into and the things that are expected of him. As his world comes crashing down around him, he struggles to stay true to himself in the midst of the darkness.

But when one of his friends dies a horrific death, Tavi knows that he must escape if he is to survive and ever have a chance at a normal life again.

This is a story about Tavi, a boy who has been sold into human trafficking, and the man who is responsible for Tavi's fate.

    Disclaimer
    - This book is based on real-life anecdotes from children who have forced into this kind of situation, and so there are a couple of gritty, unpalatable images that would have been unrealistic to leave out.

I just finished reading this last night. I wouldn't say I enjoyed it, but I couldn't stop reading it.

So disturbing. I saw 12 Years a Slave a while ago and felt disturbed then, let alone at something that's happening in the world today.

I'd recommend it, but not if you are easily upset about things.
