Really sorry to hear about your little cat, Katiecat. My son left home for Uni last september and my little cat has since become my second baby. They really are like little people and give us so much pleasure. I am thinking about you and sending you love0

I suspect that the dishwasher was the primary reason for the kitchen refurb

Actually it wasn't - but I'm thrilled! Was a definite plus.Valli.. toothbrushes in DW.. makes things sparkly
do you mean put the toothbrushes in the DW to clean them?
Reasons for kitchen refit
- inadequate, faulty oven (timer bit broke then the door catch broke, was not able to replace due to being obsolete)
-unable to fit TD in house - was in shed.
-inadequate extractor (which comitted hari-kiri the night I booked the refit!)
-broken space heater
-drawer runners broke, were replaced but drawer couldn't be fully opened
-a cupboard that was useless - had sliding baskets but broken runners
-doors beginning to hang off
-enamel (honestly!) sink which had chips, the enamel had worn off and was so badly scratched the remaining enamel had to be treated with neat bleach to return it to any semblance of whiteness
-leaking pipe under sink (to outside pipe) been turned off since some time before exH left - now have a NEW OUTSIDE TAP! Shame there's likely to be a hosepipe ban!
-and (newly discovered) awful plastering in utility area (yes - a utility area and STILL no TD) which has led to damp
So my cunning plan was to have a kitchen fitted by professionals - ie people who do it for a living (and eat tonnes of biscuits - who knew that you could get so many biscuits so cheaply in the Savers range;):T) get the utiility area (which is down a step and is where the damp it) properly kitted out as a utility area - TD and WM down there. The previous kitchen was white, with a white worktop which showed EVERY splash & drip & mark, had different rates of yellowing due to sunlight, awful joining strips and will NOT be missed.
And I have decided to go with the expensive ceiling lights I liked rather than settle for a cheaper strip - so hope e bay bidders are kind to me!
anyway - flying - washing on line!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Help! I have done nothing - at all since I first posted in here on Tuesday.

So the plan today is to do today's list which isn't too hard as the bedsheets were changed on Tuesday so can skip that. Then if I feel ok I'll do yesterdays list, and so on. If nothing else at least it means I'll get something done.
By the end of tomorrow I'm hoping to have a lot of the weeks list done (only basic of course
) but knowing me it won't happen! I need someone to kick my bum into gear!
So far today I have hung up some towels and bedsheets that were washed. I'm now about to start on the bedroom....Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -

I've done the bathroom/toilet this morning and been for my walk, very foggy here and everything is dripping. I got dripped on by a tree on my walk (and muddy from a staffie but it was worth it
). Washing draped round indoors. 0 -

WB Wilf.:o
Should be doing the bedroom today, but Mr LW is wfh and I'm up to my eyes with stuff that's got to be done today, including a trip to Waitrose and Iceland this afternoon; so I'll do both the bedroom and the spare room tomorrow. They're both fairly easy rooms, which is why I've assigned them to the tail end of the week, so it shouldn't be too awful if I just do Basic Flying.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
do you mean put the toothbrushes in the DW to clean them?
Of course.. everything.. and I mean everything goes in my DW... inc mooncups (after washing thoroughly in the sink), potties (after a severe!!! bleaching) and cat dishes (after rinsing off goo)... usually the cycle before it gets a good clean.. but still..
Flying... nothing... nada.... zip.....
I am going for a shower.. decluttering dirt and grease and skin.. does that count? lol
The flowers from M&S are they any good does anyone know??.. I was thinking of sending some to my mother (next street from me! who I have not spoken to or seen since 15th January!!!) to remind her I exist!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I believe they ARE good but if you're not happy you can always complain;)
I have a fridge freezer that's all shiny and not rusty AND came with a free pyrex dish and (sadly) I'm thrilled - I already have two large ones of them but only one small one and they are so useful for freeze ahead meals:D:D:D:D:D
