Tesco credit card - recommended?

I have just come to the end of my years 0% with Sainsbury's credit card and am considering Tesco's card. I notice on another thread that people have had problems with Tesco and are taking them to court. Does anyone have experience of having a Tesco card and can I change from Sainsbury's to Tesco?

Many thanks. :)

I have the tesco card, never had an issue with them. I pay ontime etc
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I've had one for 10 years or more. No problems whatsoever and clubcard points on everything. Works for me just fine. :)

I've got a Tesco CC and never had any problems with it. Don't use it anymore though as I prefer my MBNA card now.

I have a Tesco card and never a problem. Possibly because I never use it!

    I have had a few.

Max it as soon as possible.

    Make payments each month

Pay it off when 0% ends

    Never a problem.

You will find that those that complain either, paid late so lost 0%, didnt read statment or cant get what they want.

  • I've had the Tesco Card for 4 years now. Initially I had 0% for purchases for 15-18 months or so. Now it works as an additional club card for us and we keep it for extra points. My wife is the second card holder.

I've never had any problems, but I've never had any late payment either.

That will apply to a high number on here then.

No problems here, though I did have a bit of hassle getting the clubcard side to work online. I called them up and the guy was familiar with the problem. We fixed it by creating a dummy clubcard account which he then linked to my CC.

Historically using a Tesco CC abroad was ultra-expensive. Apart from a standard 2.75% loading, they'd based this on their own inferior exchange rate so basically you were 5 or 6% out of pocket. They've now switched to using the standard MC exchange rate - but even so, there are better options for overseas use.

Paying the bill by debit card on their site is easy. It remembers the details so you just say how much you want to pay off.
