How did it go???I have a simple philosophy:
Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.

It all went well, thanks! We completed early in the day (10 am), and I picked up the keys at lunchtime. The house is in lovely condition, very clean, and the vendor left me a card, bottle of bubbly and even a bunch of flowers as a welcome! I am extremely chuffed with my first property purchase. I am all set to move in on Saturday and can't wait to live there.
Two local locksmiths wanted to charge me stupid money to change the locks (>£100) - thus decided to do it myself, and have changed two locks so far. Total cost: £11.90! Thank you very much, Toolstation :-)0 -

Turned out it wasn't necessary to bring my own. There was toilet roll in all three bathrooms. The vendor even folded up the first sheets like in fancy hotels!0 -
Aww, how lovely!0

I'm so excited for you, there's no better feeling than when you finally get the keys. Of course it's all downhill after that (no, I'm only joking).
It makes it almost worth all the worry and stress of buying/selling....
I'm glad your vendor was nice and left the house clean and with little gifts for you. I always do that but it hasn't always been reciprocated. Hope you enjoy your new home.0
