Know Your Rights!

I was in town last night.

I won't lie, I was WASTED.

I police officer decided he didn't like the look of me (I was acting like a bit of a fool, but doing NOTHING illegal what so ever) and dragged me across the street to teach me a lesson.

I had to keep my mouth shut afterwards but I felt disgust towards the whole police force because of this one bad apple.

What I want to ask is...

In future, what are my rights?

- Can I ask for his badge number (etc) to complain about him physically assaulting me?

- What evidence do I need to back myself up? If I record the goings on on my phone, can I use it as evidence in a court of law?

- Can I issue a complaint to the police force, stating the time and place of the incident (it was on camera)? If so, what will be done?

That punk just didn't like the look of me because I'm an arrogant, confident young male and the cave man felt threatened.

As stated I was not doing anything illegal by shouting around and acting like a bit of an idiot with friends. The cave man just seen me as an easy target and knew he may get an arrest out of me.

I intend to take this as far as I can and take this alpha male wannabe to the court and we'll fight it out there like real men.

So I'm a bit of an idiot.

    I still have rights.

Lucky for me I'm quite intelligent so I can correct these idiotic tendencies quickly and easily. No problemo.

    Thankyou for admitting your offences.

Your first offence is covered under the Licensing Act of 1872.

Being drunk in public is actually a criminal offence.

Your second offence is Drunk & Disorderly.

    Thanks.

Is it still OK for an officer to drag me across the street in the middle of town?

Yes, because you presumably didn't want to go in the direction he was leading you and were offering resistance perhaps?

It will be on CCTV and I'm sure the Desk Sergeant will gladly deal with your complaint along with the two offences you have admitted.

I offered no resistance what so ever. I have respect for authority and the police, however I felt a little mistreated.

I should study the laws of this country.

There was no need for primitive physical violence, a few simple words would have done the job.

What a stupid monkey (not you, the officer.)
