My cat has an admirer - advice please!

Is that really true? I've got 2 males and 1 female cat (all neutered), none of them have ever sprayed.
Re the OP's visiting cat, I wouldn't worry too much about it. As you say the cat looks well looked after, then it is likely that this includes flea and worming treatment.
I'm not necessarily talking about inside as this is where our cats should feel safe and secure ( if they don't, there is a possibility they will spray). But if they go outside, they will often spray against a tree or a fence post or whatever to mark their territory, my three adult cats certainly do, especially when they first go out in the morning or if they have been away in the cattery
Inside the house, they use pheromes in their cheek glands to rub against furniture or doors, this is another (much better!) way of leaving their mark.0 -
Cat1 (a neutered tom) sprayed. Apparently its not that unusual for some testicular material to remain in situ after the snip.0

Gosh sounds like my cat, are you my neighbour? I have 2 cats when I got the first my neighbours 2 cats used to come into my garden and bully her then I got my 2nd cat a male and he spends his day next door with the 2 bully cats. My neighbours says he lies on their decking and scratches at the door to be let in and acts like he lives there. He is neutered, wormed and deflead, but just super friendly0

I can't believe no ones asked for a photo yet!
2 of my cats have friends, Dizzy's mate "Buddy" as we call him, used to sit outside the back door waiting for him to come out, he's like part of the family now (I put a spot on on him as he was covered in fleas and ticks) I often see them playing a game of chase, in and out the underneath of next doors decking, its so funny to watch! Or they curl up on the shed roof and have a snooze in the sun.
Cilla has a boyfriend "Ginge" think he was responsible for her last litter of kittens, didn't think he'd want to know her after she'd been done, but he still visits!Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.0 -
My bet is he just wants to be friends, some do. My youngest has a little friend from up the road. She will call for him and he her and then they will play chase me and sit together. ( It is play as one will run and then stop and wait for the other to chase then swap roles and then they will just sit together, or roll together)0

Does the visitor have a collar? Would you be able to get close enough to slip a note under his collar for his owner. They might be wondering where he is all day and if you exchange phone numbers with his owner they can call you if they are worried about him. You could also establish whether he is wormed and flea treated regularly to take away that worry.
TBH you story was so sweet. It must be adorable to see them together.:o
Photos please!!You had me at your proper use of "you're".0 -
You can tell my castrated male cat is male, because he still has what looks like mini deflated ball sack at the back....0

we got a visitor too! he's a black male with odd whiskers black on left side white on the right side with a tiniest of white bibs on his chest, he's attempted to come in with success a few time but ushered out.
lilly is his main friend as she sits and looks on in ore at him (neutered), but he's increadably thin, has worms and fleas, i cant keep my girls in and he wont begger off either water treament and allsorts he comes back for more each time staying that bit longer. ive tride dipping some worming solution into some food and planting it by the door for him but he leaves it alone.
we know who the owner is and they cant be bothered with him.0 -
Our boy cat is neutered but still has, erm, lumps (?) that look at bit like testicles. He has also been known to get his "thing" out and he mounts girl cat when she is in season (but doesn't know what to do beyond this, bless him). It is not uncommon for neutered males to still exhibit sexual behaviour, but it sounds like the male cat who is visiting just wants to socialise!
(For the record, our cats are house cats so there is no risk of our girl cat becoming pregnant. Also, she is getting spayed soon so that she is not having to go through being in season).A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Started 15/03/2011.
