Hi you lovely people
well, I did it,
I don't know whether you've read my 1st post but we got a parking 'fine':D from Parking Spy:D with pretty photo's on dates, times etc. but we typed in our Reg No wrong so got the PCN.
anyway I was soooo hacked off(I came here for advice, brilliant by the way!)
I was advised on here of course to Ignore(I received 2 invoices and a Final demand), which I think i could've ignored but the charges was outrageous and I thought I've done nothing wrong and had the ticket to prove we'd paid,
so it got the better of me and I wrote to them including a photocopy of the said ticket and my company letter stating if i hear from them again it will be passed to our solicitors and included a invoice from me to be paid by them in 30 days!!!!!
so today i get a letter from them stating that
'it appears you in-putted the incorrect reg No(no S*** Sherlock), on this occasion as a gesture of good will we will be cancelling the Parking Charge':rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
the way they have worded it is like they have done me a favour! cheeky so and so's! .
well if does feel good and just thought i'd share
thanks again you lot are amazing and 'Give them FA' you would've been my next port of call if they came back with more BS you did a great job!!
P.S I hope they read this.:)
cheers

Did they pay your invoice?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

You have spoilt my fun there Marilyn I was hoping to sink my teeth into their backsides.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Still, well Done, a shining example of how they back down if you show them you're not afraid of them... mighty big of them to let you off a "debt" you never owed them in the first place....
but others, take notice, that is the way to treat them- with utter contempt! :T:T:T0 -
Paid my invoice? no, but i will give them 14 more days or my charge will go up :rotfl:
Sorry FA I would have loved to have skipped all the way to court for them, maybe next time*wink*.
oh no was never afraid, bring it on lol.

I do like a story with a "they all lived happily ever after...except the big bad wolf" ending.....:T
Take pleasure in the smug knowledge that they will be seething that they lost another fish of the hook....:)A PPC is not just for Christmas...with a few CCJ threats you should have enough toilet paper to last well into the new year.....0 -
The point is no matter what parking cry did with this particular situation , they have given an unenforceable invoice that bares no relation to their loss which is nothing by the way. This a company that turns down appeals automatically 99.99% of the time, just do a search on here for confirmation of that.
The one time they took someone to court for a pay and display ticket, they asked for I think £300 for a loss of about £10 , and wait for it £4000 in solicitors costs in a small claim, they sent 4 solicitors to someone disputing a simple civil matter. It was of course laughed out of court, they won their loss of £10 and court costs of about £40 .
The OP should have just ignored them and it would have gone away as PE are still smarting about their embarrassing day in court, I suppose 1 case in about 100k a year of invoices is something to ponder.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -

No Perky, the fault lies entirely with Parking Lie for attempting to issue a parking penalty when they're neither the police or a local authority. Maybe they could employ a solicitor or four to bring them up to date on the law to make sure they don't make this same mistake again.

They are one and the same, yes the ppc won the case as the guy admitted he was the driver, the judge correctly interpretated the law correctly, you can only claim for actual losses and court costs. The £4k of solicitors costs is completely absurd in a small claims and was immediately thrown out. Cost to parking eye for bringing the case was thrown out and they are down circa £4k for the legal bill from I think pannone solicicitorsExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. Marilyn, in case you are still reading and wondering what is going on, "ppeterson1750" is NOT a genuine poster, "IT" is a gentleman called Michael Perkins who is actually the proprietor of one of these ghastly scamming companies, and pretending to be something else.
"Perky" as we call him, likes to take the VERY occasional motorist to court (after making ABSOLUTELY certain that he has not received any advice from this forum!!!) on the one in ten case that he manages to pull the wool over the eyes of a green district judge he tells everyone about it, the nine times he is laughed out of court he keeps it a secret. And when he does "win" the case is probably staged, anyway.
The honesty levels of this "gentleman" can be judged by the following news item where he admits that he would have willingly cheated in examinations:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/4755270.stm
The only thing we will thank him for is giving everyone here an insight into just how sneaky and dishonest the people behind these companies can be, and how they try to spread disinformation at every opportunity.
I have tried on numerous occasions to get Perky to take me to court; but he knows better, because he knows that either he will get caned in the court of first instance, or I will deliberately throw it, but only enough so as to appeal the matter to a Court of record so that the gravy train can be derailed once and for all.
Anyway, Marilyn, that is who ppeterson1750 actually is.
And in answer to his question at the bottom of the last post- the answer is yes they did all of those things- but as Taffy says they were UNSUCCESSFUL. Getting the measure of the man, everyone?
He's nothing if not a cheeky so and so, eh?0 -

The bit about your solicitor they know is just bluff and bluster, no one does that for small claims as it would cost more than the ticket and you would not be able to reclaim it.
So at last Perky admits that threats about solicitors are all bluff and bluster. Just what we've been telling PPC victims for years.0 -
