    Afternoon all,

    Thanks everyone for dropping in - Cheery, download the app and get Amazon credit for all those job ads! I've already earned and had credited £11+ and it's been paid and applied to my Amazon account. Very impressed with the service.

    Karma - yes, was pleased to get the tax return done and have now calculated that I can add £4k to my pension for last year. The money is winging its way to my current a/c from PBs as we speak.... Slow cooker beans were okay. Would use the recipe again but it definitely needs a lot less water - but perhaps that's my SC. I had to boil them on the stove for about an hour. The recipe made plenty though, so will freeze some (after beans on toast for my lunch :D ). Not buying stuff in tins is usually okay, but I do miss baked beans (and have to buy tinned tuna).

    So I've still not received the big project - I'm not too worried, it will come, but in the meantime I'm running out of jobs to do. Which is meaning that I'm getting those done that I'd rather avoid! Slowly clearing a couple of cupboards - a combination of stuff acquired from Nan's that needs sorting and putting away properly and stuff that can now go as I'm no longer doing Brownies (some to new leader, some just to recycling etc.).

    The man next door is doing DIY today - lots of banging and drilling... which is getting tedious. I'm going to pop down to see Mum after lunch (I need to get a life really, it seems she is my social life! Everyone my age is working or having babies). We might pop into town - we've both got stuff for charity shops and I'll do some job spotting. :P

    Have downloaded Airtime Rewards app that was in Martin's email. Seems to work well. If anyone else wants to give it a try, my referral code is 88YXTPXM. There's a £1.50 bonus for signing up from a referral at the moment (and I get £1.50 too).

    MS things:
    * Clicks etc. Met SBs lower target (and higher one yesterday)
    * 1P at £36.95
    * Couple of PA surveys
    * Cat sitting meeting tonight
    * Money withdrawn to invest in pension :T

    Gratitudes:
    * We have the money stashed for a new mattress - my back will really appreciate this
    * Beans on toast :D
    * B&W cat didn't pee on the floor this morning (which he did yesterday and was then (grass) sick elsewhere!

    Cor, what a lot of waffle.... have a good day all!

    Afternoon all (or it will be when I press 'post'!),

    Had a lovely day on Saturday, walking 14 miles (was meant to be 6, but took a detour and then also discovered I'd misread the return bus instructions - had to book in advance!) in Suffolk, although it was a bit windy.

    Have cancelled veg box for this week as we have plenty from last week and in the garden still. Picked a lovely big cucumber yesterday and we had cucumber and mint (also from garden) raita with our curry. More curry tonight - Sri Lankan runner bean curry and I'm going to make some naans.

    Cat sitting is going well (so much more normal than the last people I cat sat for!) and kitty is lovely. I have this evening off as they're back for one night and then back at it tomorrow (they've been to a wedding and then he's surprising her with a holiday!). It's very walkable so no fuel cost, exercise included and no litter tray to scoop! I hope it might become a regular thing. :)

    With the low income forecast for this month I'm doing my best to boost it with surveys - just waiting for PA to clear and then I'll cash out. VB should cash out this month too. We've claimed a £10 Pizza E voucher and £10 of *$s credit from Bing too.

    MS things:
    * 1P @ £37.10
    * PA surveys - a couple of bigger ones
    * NV survey
    * Ebay - made £12 before fees
    * DH sold an acquired (sounds dodgy but isn't :D ) bike on there for just over £100 (I think this has already been earmarked for the mini though)
    * Just made some garibaldi biscuits :)
    * Bought my outfit for Goodwood Revival on Ebay - £20 for a genuine vintage dress. Have shoes and will do something with hair. Just need a bag and to check cardi works with dress.
    * Might have bought another top on ebay (2nd hand) - £4.00 + P&P :o

    Gratitudes:
    * A new feline friend :) I do enjoy the cat sitting :)
    * A lovely day out on Saturday
    * A very patient DH

    Have a good day all!

    Wonderful! Except, er, the bus not booked :rotfl: but lets face it, you got even more exercise than you planned.

    And a lovely kitty

    Afternoon all,

    Thanks Karma... yes, the bus, the detour.... the exercise was good though!

    Had a goodly amount of work to do this morning, but still waiting for the big project. Getting a bit concerned now as the original request was made when I thought I'd have the whole of August to do it and that is becoming increasingly not the case. August is my quiet time, so I would have had lots of time to dedicate to it and therefore my estimate was based on this.

    Was super impressed with my dinner last night: homemade naans, had homemade/home grown raita, hg runner bean (and some French from veg box) curry (including hg chilli and garlic) and tuna pickle which was exchanged with neighbour for some naans. :)

    Off to cinema tonight on another bargainous ticket. DH and I both had leftover curry portions that were huge for lunch, so not too much needed tonight before we go (and I have some leftover popcorn from Brownie holiday to smuggle in :) ).

    MS things:
    * VB payout
    * PA payout
    * Goodwood dress arrived and fits and looks great :D
    * Clicks etc. done

    Gratitudes:
    * Honest and helpful ebay traders
    * Sunshine :)
    * The bounty of my garden

    Have a good afternoon all!

    :o:o:o Thanks Newgirly.... tell you what, you're on.... *BUT* you have to take the fleas we have at the moment too! :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

    I offered to look after neighbour's (who cooks) cats while she visited her pregnant daughter (who has been in hospital). She'd mentioned a week or so ago that she'd got fleas in the house, but I'd temporarily forgotten that. Her normal catsitter is away and she seemed to think the alternative was to chuck the cats out for a couple of nights and leave them to fend for themselves. So I was trying to be nice and neighbourly and helpful. I popped round on Tues eve so say it was okay and I'd look after them. I was in her house less than 30 seconds (as we were on our way out). I left and fortunately we went to the cinema so came back late and went straight to bed (better than spreading fleas all round the house!). Next morning I put on the jeans I'd been wearing the night before and shortly thereafter discover a fresh bite on my ankle (having remembered about the fleas after my visit and spending the whole night psychosomatically itching). Neighbour turns up to talk about cat sitting and assures me she no longer has fleas in house (but she doesn't actually react to them, so has no way of knowing, as she seems to think cats still have them??? She's a bit weird, I think I've said before). I say okay, her kitchen floor is marble, so should be okay. She goes. I pop round cautiously to cat I am being paid to look after :eek: in my car, which we took to cinema (it was raining). After calling in there and popping to Sain's, I discover more bites on my legs. Check online - definitely flea bites. :( Everything is washed, hoovered, get flea spray from pet store and spray where my clothes had been etc. etc. Weather rubbish, so leave some washing in machine (big washing day today). All the while, itching all over! :( Think I've probably sorted it, have shower, change clothes, feel less itchy. Had intended to see mum but she doesn't want to know! Neighbour had offered lunch but I'd turned it down because of plan to go out. Now definitely don't want lunch with neighbour so go meet DH for lunch and spend afternoon visiting his parents - no more bites (sprayed car too!). Call neighbour when I get in and say absolutely cannot look after cats, very sorry, blah blah blah.... bad line, she gets cross with me, says she's not got fleas, I'm imagining things. Whether she put phone down or it died, I don't know, but end of conversation. And probably friendship. :(

    Wake up this morning, no bites... until I put clothes on which had been in same spot as yesterday's clothes - respraying everywhere and washing everything in sight now. :( Because I washed the Dyson filters yesterday after hoovering I have to wait for them to be dry before I can do a more thorough hoover. At least weather is good today for washing and drying.

    So.... MS things? Not a chance! Didn't even manage clicks yesterday. :( And we're out tonight for dinner with some of DH's work colleagues. Did post an RM survey item, I guess.

    Just wish I could stop itching!!:eek: :( And cross with neighbour as now feel I'm avoiding her until she goes away.

    Hope you get fleas sorted ..... I used to regularly treat the neighbours cat that visisted without telling her. (The neighbour that is, not the cat. The cat knew full well she was getting flea drops). Then had to hope neighbour did not cuddle cat and smell the flea stuff:rotfl:and wonder where/how that came about!
    Cat no longer visists on account of dog here so I assume there house is back to being flea infested (starts scratching just thinking about it)
    Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

    In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    Oh wow that’s terrible of your neighbour, she should be apologising!

    Our cat has carried the odd flea in with her in the past but we have never hadn’t them like that on things in the house, it’s sounds like a nightmare :eek: sorry but her house must have a lot of fleas for them to be all over your clothes.

    Ug, my sympathies! I never had an infestation ... and the family cats I look after sometimes are indoors cats, so no problems there either. What a pain for you!
