    Afternoon all,

    Thanks Karma and Cross Rabbit.... I can't complain about taking other people's kids away - it's definitely the best part of being a leader - you really get to know the girls and the looks on their faces when they see the Disney castle for the first time are priceless. (I feel mean taking that away from the parents to some extent, but I know some of them will never be able to afford to go/want to go as a family). I will really miss the girls in the summer when we stop. :(

    Had a reasonable amount of work this morning, but have got it out of the way now. While it's good to have it, it's now close enough to going away that it would add stress if more arrived!

    Mum and I are off to see bubs and cuz this afternoon. Am currently (fingers-crossed) re-waterproofing my waterproof jacket in the washing machine.... Thank goodness for Amazon Prime sometimes! Forecast for weekend has now improved but was looking quite wet. And waterproof has proven to be anything but on recent occasions, so hopefully the Nikwax will do the job.

    DH is away with work tonight (3 free meals :T ) and I'm having dinner at Mum's this evening. :)

    MS things:
    * Clicks etc. done
    * Work done :)
    * One of the tiny ebay sales hasn't turned up yet. Have put them off a refund until two weeks have passed, but don't hold out much hope it'll turn up. :(
    * Bought the Brownie food on my CC - flying points for me :)

    Gratitudes:
    * Flyladying is really beginning to make a difference - I cleaned our bedroom windows this morning! :)
    * Dinner with mum tonight
    * Going to squeeze the new baby! :D (still haven't started the hat... oops! Tonight... maybe!)

    Have a good afternoon all :)

    Thanks Karma!

    Disney was..... utterly exhausting. Because of traffic hold-ups we didn't get there till 5 am. Fortunately the girls slept on the coach, but I didn't (worried about the driver!). I also had toothache, fell over and hurt my bum and just generally wasn't in the right spirit for it!! However, I think the girls had a great time, which is ultimately the most important thing.

    Saw the dentist yesterday and I'd just damaged the gum with my toothbrush, so nothing major to worry about. I have some mouthwash to keep it clean while it heals. Today I'm feeling more human at last, so have been cracking on with work and housework.

    Had 4 small Ebay sales over the weekend :T and one finished last night for £189! :T :T It was an old games console and games. Even better, we got it listed on the max £1 FVF :D I need to pop out shortly and post a whole load of parcels. Will use some of my RM survey stamps.

    MS things:
    * Nothing bought at Disney - didn't see anything I need or particularly wanted
    * Used cashback CC to pay for 2x McD's for the group (much cheaper than park options) - Brownies get great exchange rate and I get cashback - win/win :)
    * Dinner last night and lunch today from things in cupboards
    * Used up some very ood (Oct :eek: but unopened) yoghurt to make naans this morning. Taste fine and I haven't died yet :rotfl:
    * SBs, VB, MS rewards: survey on SBs this morning, have met first goal; DH kept streak on MS rewards going - claimed 105 pt bonus this morning :T

    Gratitudes:
    * The wonderfully behaved Brownies :T
    * The lovely group we shared the coach with :T
    * That I am lucky enough to have been born in Britain with all the privilege that entails - we saw an illegal immigrant get pulled out from underneath the wheel arch of another coach whilst we were waiting to go through passport control. How desperate must you have to be to risk that? :(

    Have a good afternoon all, hope it's the right amount of snowy for you, wherever you are (none here yet) x

    Hiya :) that actually sounds like quite a rough time, even though it was so good for the Brownies themselves (and your ebay sale! Woot!).

    Very sobering to see that illegal immigrant :( did the children see? )

    Have a good afternoon :)

    Thanks Karma - it was a bit rough. The parents asked if I'd had a good time. I'm not sure I can honestly say yes.... it was all a bit of a painful blur.

    The girls at the front of the coach saw the immigrant - which led to a conversation with one Brownie that ended up with 'ask your parents'.... she's a 'whybird' and there's always more questions! It was pretty sobering.

    On more cheerless news, I've just heard that my cousin's other grandmother has passed away. It's quite a shock really - saw her at Christmas and cousin's baby shower and she looked really well. Underlying health issues seem to have rapidly caught up with her. :( She was such a lovely lady, full of life and joy, right to the end. She will be very much missed. I'm just hoping March is a funeral-free month and 2019 improves at some point. :(

    Glad the children had a great time at Disneyland, but sorry it was not so good for you. Fingers crossed your year will start to turn around soon. The Universe does have a habit of sending a lot of things all at once to test our resilience. Try to just keep riding the wave MadVix and keep your head out of the water. In my job i take a large group of boys away for several weeks to a place that everyones would love to go for a holiday (been doing it for 15yrs). Not one person believed me when i said the trip was utterly exhausting, so i give up trying to explain and just say "yes" to the did you enjoy question as its easier! I can never work out of i actually enjoy it!! So i empathise.

    In terms of the world sending all at once Mrs SJ is in the midst of the same. Back to work in Janaury and she's been hit with a colleague suddenly dying, then a colleagues young daughter passing away with menningitis, then her closest colleagues husband (and work colleague himself) attempting suicide! And to cap it off and announcement that there will be a reorg in April and her bosses role is going! January has been ridiculous for her so far!

    Good grief :( that's really, really stressful for Mrs SJ - obviously, the families involved bear the brunt, but layer upon layer of life or death shocks is awful. Lots of care and self care are needed, seriously.
