Morning all,
Still feel rubbish and shockingly we had takeaway pizza last night for tea as I felt so lousy and there was nothing easy to cook (and more to the point I was ravenous and DH wasn't moving to cook quickly enough!). Leftovers for lunch today.
In good news, the new mortgage deal is saving us about £75 a month in interestand we're paying off £500 of capital each month now.
And in even better news, favourite BIL and GF are now BIL and fiancee! :T They're on holiday, so we'll celebrate with them when they get back and when I'm feeling better.
I have managed to get entirely caught up with work this morning (finally finishing a major project that's been ongoing since before Christmas) and have done two loads of washing. I'm going out after lunch to try and find a skirt for the funeral (in M&S, will use a voucher I was given for Christmas). So, small progress is being made.
Not sure there are MS things to shout about so straight onto gratitudes:
* The ability to order food delivered to one's house
* Cold and flu medication
* BIL and GF's engagement! :T
* Being all caught up on work! :TMortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Hi MV,
Just catching up, your holiday to the States sounds amazing, I've always fancied Nashville, it just sounds so cool! Have you got a vague itinerary planned yet? I'm in holiday planning mode too, so excitingI think I need to follow your lead and get an air miles CC for our next trip! Long haul economy with 3 kids is not going to be fun I can tell you :rotfl::eek:
Are you feeling better today? I was a bit lurgy-ish yesterday, better for having a rest though.
Hope your ebay items are going well, I agree with you, where does all the stuff come from?!!Mortgage March 2011 £143,927.6

Hi Crumpets,
Holiday plans have come to a (hopefully temporary) standstill as we've discovered there aren't the flights available for the points we want, despite DH's initial look.We need to sort it, but it's possible it won't be this year .:( I'd suggest you and DH go 1st/Upper class and leave the kids in economy? (Or is that mean?!! :rotfl: )). So no, no real itinerary sorted yet, although things are crystallising sort of.

Hi all,
It's been few days since I updated. The funeral went well (so everyone tells me - I was really too upset to notice). My cousin had her baby on Sunday (I've still not started the hat) - a little boy, all well, Mum and I were hoping to see them tomorrow, but they've only just been released, so perhaps not.
UFM and particularly the food budget have gone out the window, although I don't think I'll have spent more than £100 (excluding the takeaway). It's just not been the right time for the focus needed. We haven't had a big shop though and we have used some bits up (and had some creative meals). It's not all been bad though...
MS things:
* Ebay sales of ~£50 after fees
* Mucho decluttering has been happening
* Picked up a MS tonight so free dinner
* Cooked and froze 6 portions of kidney beans
* Two pairs of shoes have gone to the cobbler for fixing
* Received a JL/WR voucher and an Am voucher as belated birthday gifts - an excuse to buy nice food in WR certainly
Gratitudes:
* House is much clearer (and getting cleaner, I've been keeping up the flyladying)
* Disney this weekend (coach journey might be just the place to start that hat knitting!)
* Belated birthday card from niece, with her squiggles all over it
I'll try to get back to posting a bit more - struggling with motivation at the moment though.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I'm not surprised you're struggling with motivation, madvix, and you know it's fine not to push it all right now: you're grieving your nan, that's the most important thing. I'm amazed you've managed to do anything at all, but its been really goodl.

Thanks Karma and Cross Rabbit. You're probably right Karma, but I think doing stuff is part of my way of dealing with it (and decluttering is only helping insofar as the overall number of items in the house is maintained - a lot is coming from nan's house - not sentimental stuff, mainly useful stuff!). However, I know I'm struggling socially at the moment and that seems to include commenting on here.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Moving on from the psychoanalysis....
Not a lot of work today, but have been super productive around the house. Much cleaning has happened and I'm nearly ready in terms of admin for the Disney trip on Friday. Meeting the other leader for 'food' shopping this afternoon (we have to supply a tea for Sunday on the coach.... anything that processed that it lasts until then doesn't really count as food!)
Didn't see cuz and baby yesterday in the end, so there's hope I may start/finish the hat before then. I might take my knitting on the coach, although I need to have got the complicated bit out of the way before constant Brownie interruptions lead to me throwing it out of the window!
MS things:
* Meal out on FIL last night to celebrate the recent engagement
* Leftovers brought home for tea tonight (augmented by crumble, with rhubarb discovered in freezer)
* RM survey items - yesterday and today. I think I've actually come to the end now, so will need to chase for my finishing presentation pack.
* Another small Ebay sale made
Gratitudes:
* Lovely meal last night (and shielded from more exuberant participants by MIL, phew!)
* All the Brownies have produced paperwork that is in order
* Lovely, very un-UFM scented narcissi (**plastic free**) arrived from Scilly Flowers - I needed them to put in the (sentimental) vase brought home from Nan's. I did get extra free and will be taking these to Mum later as it was her birthday on Sunday (proper present was joint with Christmas, but I feel mean not getting her anything now!)
Have a good afternoon all!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Productivity in the house counts as mse
and your experiences that led to your gratitudes sound lovely.
