Got a salesman due to visit to give me a quote. What should my max approx budget be for 1 front door. 2 normal size windows, 1 smaller window, 1 very small toilet window and 1 long narrow window (for next to front door). The cheapest options on upvc will do me.
I'm thinking around £1400. Is this realistic?
Also anyone had any dealings with this company?

Its not realistic with Anglian. More like £4k.
Read their reviews on here and elsewhere before you make a decision.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
They are one of the biggies so you are going to pay a premium.
Have a look around for a couple of local companies and get quotes from them too (and references from previous jobs)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Anglian???????

We got a good price from a small local firm who install "Veka" brand windows. 16 tilt and turn windows for just over £8k. Varying sizes.
You can also get them, and find an installer, via "Network Veka".
They were considerably less expensive than Anglian.0 -
my guess anglian book price will 9.5-10.5k and they will come down to about 3.8k-4.4k0

a lot more than if you just went to a reputable local company0

Hard to say, but even with a local firm, my guess is you could be a grand light on your budget
you may get a manufacturer willing to fit cheaper without fensa.. but that comes with potential probsAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
16k then 8k, and finally 4k.
or you could get it done properly by a local company for half that price.Get some gorm.0 -
I suggest that you don't get involved with Anglian at all. They are a PITA. I made the mistake of agreeing to let them quote for a new porch door last year. I then cancelled the appointment. This week, we have had 3 calls in 2 days from them. They seem to have rung every month since I cancelled the appointment. They even had the cheek to ask why I had cancelled the appointment and weren't best pleased when I told them that I didn't think it was any of their business.
For what it is worth, I did have some work done by Everest, and although it was not cheap. The whole thing was flawless, from the measuring to the fitting and the follow up afterwards to check that all was well. Of course, we are now getting calls and brochures from them as well.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
We had anglian around to quote fora conservatory. i would never deal with a company that couldn't give a straight quoute without the ard sell and it's this price if you sign today or this price if you don't! Bunch of sharks and cowboys that I will never ever bother with again! Get a local company to quote and ask to see some of their work. We viewed 2 customers conservatories that they had done and was a much better bet!0
