Parking Ticket From Company

Options
I got a parking ticket for parking in a shop car park. It is really just an empty bit of land but apparently there is a sign saying no parking but the way I went into the car park there was no way of me seeing it and it is also very high up and not lit up (I parked overnight). I've been told I'm aswell just ripping it up as it's not issued by the council. Is this true? And it threatens if I don't pay it they will get my details from DVLA and take further action.

Google the name of the company issuing the ticket or search this forum. It is probably an invoice and not a fine. If so, you can safely ignore it and any future communications from this company now matter how official they seem.

    Not council? Ignore!

Read the stickies, google the company and you'll see it's meaningless.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

If it isn't from the Council then you are perfectly safe to ignore it. From what you say, in any case, the signing was totally inadequate.

Yes, they can get the details of the vehicle keeper from DVLA. That costs them money. Which they will never see again.

Because the only further action they will take is to send you a few scary letters.

Their final action will NOT be to take you anywhere near a court, contrary to their promises; it will be to shove off and never come back when they realise you are wise to the scam and aren't going to pay.

    IGNORE IGNORE IGNORE.

If it is not from a council then ignore it. It will cost them a £2.50 bribe for the registered keepers [note - NOT the driver's] details from the gang of extortionists in Swansea and the "further action" will be a load of garbage through your letter box which you can safely ignore.
    Which company is it?

It's from Total Parking Solutions. It says they can take me to court or go through a debt recovery scheme. The car isn't mine.. It's dads and I know he won't believe I don't have to pay it

It was actually given out of spite the ticket as I was away at Crufts had the coach company has had permission to park there for years but the owner of the shop fell out with the person that runs the coach so decides to get back at her by giving us a ticket.

It's a scam charge . Point your dad to this forum and don't be bullied into paying anything.
  • TPS don't do court. "Debt recovery scheme" = series of begging letters.

    Ignore.

Will do. I've asked the person to get pictures of the sign. There is CCTV cameras but apparently they don't work anyway.

So there's no way people will turn up at the door demanding money?

If your dads the registered keeper then the paperwork will be sent to him. You need to point him in the direction of this forum for confirmation that it can all be safely ignored. He may be grateful of that, if they ever stick a ticket on him he will be glad to know he doesn't need to pay it, thanks to your advice!
