Debenhams wedding lists - unbelievably bad

Clive_Woody wrote:We had our wedding list at the Guilford branch of Debs just over 4 years ago. They did a great job, as far as I can remember substitutions were not an issue and we got everything that people ordered for us. To be honest with that kind of notice I don't see why they can't order in items that are out of stock.
I guess the best solution would be to get vouchers, but I know a lot of people like to give gifts rather than vouchers or cash.
We got married 6 months ago and used Guildford also. We didn't have a single problem, so I guess it's one of those things of being down to the staff.0 -
Just been and set ours up. Couldnt find very much to put on it tho. Debenhams is sooooooooo expensive! Anyways so he gave us our gift card but I think the guy said we dont get the free £50 until after the wedding. Is that right?

The wedding list system with Debenhamsas really p'd me off. I thought it was a matter of going to the wedding point, selecting gift, paying and then the goods would be collated by store and delivered to B&G after wedding.
Wrong, in my local store you print out list, walk around the shop to find the item, take them to the till to pay for them, hand the assistant a copy of the wedding list and unless you want to pay £3.50 delivery and £3.50 wrapping (an extra £7:eek: ) you take them home with you and DIY!! I refuse to pay such an extorionate fee when I had done all the work so I used my goldcard and asked for my free gift wrap so I had a nice box to put the goods in. They didn't like that.:D
