Those will be the cheapest. But in my experience they will last about a week.

I always buy batteries from poundland...and the Kodak ones have always been really really good...I have a 3 year old and 18 month old, so you can imagine the toys. Between them they have 2 toys that eat batteries....other than that all the other toys the batteries last weeks (and get used regularly!)

In fact, I make special trips to poundland just to get batteries

I also think kodak Poundland batteries are fine for everyday use, I have lithium for my digital camera but otherwise we use the cheap ones and in my experience they do last.

If you have access to Costco their own brand, Kirkland, alkaline batteries are good value and seem to last at least as long as Duracells and have long shelf life dates too. I don`t have the price for AA cells handy but as a guide 48 AAAs are £9.59 inc vat.

stupid question why dont you buy a battery charger and some rechargables. when the kids have finished or the batteries have died out, after using place in charger next day when they want to play with whatever toy that uses those batteries put them in.

You can recharge NiMh batteries upto 500-1000 times.
You can get a charger and batteries from Lidl and Aldi when they are in.
I've bought some AA and AA batteries via ebay from china. they work a treat. i tested them in the same device against the £5 rechargable duracells, as i thought at first the fact they only lasted a week was poor, but then so did the duracells.
I got 32 rechargable batteries 16 of each AA and AAA for just over a £10 via ebay.
