First credit card was from Natwest when I was 17

Limit was £500, Natwest only realised their mistake a couple of weeks before my 18th b'day and so let me keep it.

Cant remember which network it was on, I do still have the same account but the limit is now a little higher

I got a northern bank access card when I was just a few weeks past 18. I don't recall applying for it. It came with a £1000 limit and that was in 1993.

I loved that card lol

Some banks offered both "Access Mastercards" and "Mastercards" side by side with different T&Cs for a while.

E.g. I seem to remember with Natwest in the early 90s if you had their standard Mastercard it came with both the Access and Mastercard logos, but their gold card at that time was simply a 'Mastercard' without any Access branding on it at all.

Also Barclaycard and TSB began to issue their own Mastercards in the late 80s that were nothing to do with Access as those two banks were never part of the Access group.
