Sorry if in wrong forum. I figured it'd be the place to post with it being about iPhone apps & such.
I've just logged on to iTunes today to download updates for the apps for my iPhone, but got told that i can't access my account for security reasons & need to reset the account.
Go to do this & it wants me to select a password. I enter the password i've had & it wont let me use it as i've had that password in the last year.
What a load of crap. My password isn't even a word. It's just a mixture of letters & numbers. You'd need a bloody password grabber programme to run a cycle of letters & numbers to get it.
Why am i being forced to change it & is there any way i can avoid doing this?

DUTR - i can't be bothered with the guy tbh. He followed me into the credit card forum to have a bit of a whinge, probably on the back of the iPhone thread. He replied, but i don't know what he said as i never went back into the thread after my last comment as i can't be bothered with it. There's bigger things in the world.
GH - nope. Opening your link now...0 -
Maybe someone has tried to access your account from a different IP to the one you normally use ? Personally I don't see it as too big a deal, many workplaces for example have forced password changes every month and you can't use any of the last 10...0

Someone has tried to log in with your apple ID and got the psssword wrong three times. It could be malicious or it could be a simple miskeying.
The content of password is irrelevent, the server looks at the characters and compares it to the characters of prior passwords. If they match it won't let you use it.
What the characters are are irrelevent be it a word, number, or a randomly generated password, if they match a prior password you can't use it.0 -
i had to do that they wont let you have the same password as aprevious one no matter wot it is
dont worry jsut use another one and reset itWhat goes around-comes around0 -
