cake stall-any tips

I've faked a few bits for school cake stalls before by buying value flapjack or bakery biscuits and dipping half in chocolate or jam then pressing into dessicated coconut... (When the kids tell you at 9pm they need a contribution for the cake stall the next day a trip to tescos and creativity is needed!)
Preserves sell well. The big tins of 'homemade marmalade' that you just boil up with sugar are cheap to do. How about pickled value eggs?
If there will be many young children you can charge them to decorate thier own biscuit by providing a cheap digestive and those ready mixed icing tubes. Pester power produces sales...... And for any body reading this and shaking thier heads... No, I wouldn't let my own kids eat that rubbish!
At a fundraiser I would be happy to pay about £3 - £4 for a homemade cake and about the same for a quiche. I always buy a few scones and biscuits plus jams if there are any.
Generally most people go to these thing with a set amount of money they want to spend just to support you. For me this sometimes means buying inedible buns to feed to the ducks on the way home but hey ho, its for charity.....0
