The reason for the clarification is due to my particular circumstances being a little different to some/most posters. That's because my defence in court would be solely focussed on the level of the 'fine'/invoice being far in excess of the loss suffered through me not purchasing a ticket.
I wasn't simply seeking reassurance, I was querying the position re CCJs, which has now been clarified and for which I am very grateful.

It wouldn't be soley based on that. It would also include the fact that they have no idea whether or not you were the driver and also that you did not consent to be party to their 'contract' simply by parking there.
There's so many hoops that the PPC would have to jump through, it's why they hardly ever bother taking it to court.0
