Unwanted phone calls to my home

Sorry if I'm on the wrong board. I need help in stopping unwanted calls to my home phone. Again last night 12.30am I get a call! On calling the number 02034550262, I get a recorded message, this is a sales and marketing call etc.
I'm registered with TPS and have complained there. I complained to OFCOM and that is a TOTAL waste of time and effort!
Contacted my provider TalkTalk and they want £4.99 pm to block calls, cheeky sods.
Any advice on this would be welcome.
I have traced this number to a company telecom2.net on 02081141000. I have complained to them and was told that they are meeting to discuss the large number of complaints received about the above number.

nearly all these calls have occurred over the recent 15 hrs or so and those complaints represent many many thousands of calls.
unless I missed it, they don't appear to mention the number ranges now.

I have phoned the above company again. They sold the number to a company who have then resold it again. Due to Data protection they are unable to say who the company calling are. They acknowledge that 100's of calls made to complain.
Sort it out!0 -
I wouldn't take much notice of what they say. Directors of that company also run a company called NetcollexNorman-B wrote:I have phoned the above company again. throughout 2004 premium rate 09 numbers that Netcollex were using were mysteriously appearing on BT customers phone bills.http://www.isp-review.com/news/viewstory.php?id=130
BT rogue dialler court case delayed
24th February 2005
A legal challenge to BT's decision last year to block access to numbers suspected of being used by rogue dialler companies has been delayed.
Birmingham-based Opera Telecom was due to have its case against BT heard at the High Court tomorrow (Friday). It is suing BT for blocking access to lines Opera leases to adult content outfit Netcollex and is seeking compensation for lost revenues.
However, the case has been postponed and is unlikely to be heard for another month or so.
"Tomorrow's court hearing on rogue diallers has been postponed as Opera requested extra time to prepare their case," said a BT spokesman.
[EDIT] I'm not implying what is going on now as anything to do with premium rate scams or Netcollex0 -
So when it comes to making money by selling on your phone number, data protection is not an issue. But when you try to get to the bottom of who is calling at unreasonable hours, it is an issue.

Turn your phone off at night or get one of those Panasonic DECT phones which block any number you like and/or only allow certain numbers through at the hours you choose.
If it's important they'll send you a letter.0 -

Hi, I too have Panasonic cordless phones which allow me to block displayed numbers that I choose to do so. But I cannot seem to figure out if it is possible to barr PRIVATE CALL (withheld numbers)
Any ideas on how to do so?
Thank you0 -

A good suggestion but my daughter is due to give birth any day. That is who I thought was calling at 12.30am today. I think I will get her to call me on my mobile instead.0 -
some of us want our family, some of whom are elderly and vulnerable, to have access to us twenty four hours a day.Jemma-T wrote:Turn your phone off at night or get one of those Panasonic DECT phones which block any number you like and/or only allow certain numbers through at the hours you choose.

We wouldn't tolerate not being able to use the road or rail networks after dark because we have accepted that criminals own it during those hours.
The Communications Network is a public utility that the law abiding public should be able to have access to twenty four hours a day.
The reason we can't is because the industry lobbied UK Government (and others) have been in the pockets of the telecoms/marketing industries for years.0
