@ Thanks Kerry - thats what my DS thought too - he said worse come to worse he might have to stay behind another year, 6th form before applying for uni.:(:(:( Tbh, he can achieve his grade if he wanted to, but all he care about at the moment are football, hockey, football:mad::mad: - at 17+ most of them do not listen to their parent:mad: they think by going out to play it will help them to pass their exam!:(

Hmmm, sounds a bit like me at that age, all you can do is try and guide him - did you listen to your parents at his age?

I thought everything was ok, I paid the deposit. Iv;e had probs with them not returning my calls and emails and have been trying to sort out out for ages now. What was the wedding co-oridnator was saying today was the first day he could met and the manager was forced to leave a week ago.

It turns out nothing had been sorted out beyond booking the room for the reception :( We had also been down there to try and sort things out but nothing changed. We were told food had to be sorted out by a certian date, that date never got met so have been trying to sort out things ever since.

Well on the plus side, the room is booked for the reception. Venues that do functions on a regular basis are pretty well practised at last minute requirements, I know it's easier said than done but try to focus on the positives and remember, it's about starting the rest of your life with your husband - if a few hiccups occur, try and go with the flow and think in years to come you will look back and be able to giggle together. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade xx

    Kerri

I wish I felt confident but tbh I don't at all :( I really regret booking the venue.

The manager thats there now has only been there a few months and hes got to manage the whole hotel now and the guy thats been there a week is doing the weddings.

I just really hate being forced into bad situations all the time, when I booked the wedding I was happy with the bplace and then it just crashed. I'm only going to get married once and the last few months haave been nothing but stress with them and I wanted to be happy leading up to my big day.

    xx

PM - we got married out of the country at a venue which we only visited once before the wedding. The flowers were done by a lady we met once, my choices and designs sent to her by post, and we never met the lady who made our beautiful cake (just went with recommendations from locals on the island). We arrived at our hotel / reception venue 3 days before getting married, to find out the events manager who was now managing our wedding had only started the week before. I nearly had a litter of kittens there and then, but they pulled everything together beautifully. We had a wonderful relaxed day and all the guests had a fab time.

What I'm trying to say in a long winded way, is keep your chin up and try and enjoy the run up to your big day xx

Things will get sorted. You and your OH will find a way to sort things. I have worked in events in the past also and there is always a way to work things out

I understand why it is upsetting but you need to put your energy into working out a solution

All the little details don't really matter. Hen do's aren't really a big deal are they? Just have a night out with pals

Let your OH do more - it always seems to be you doing everything

Oh carp - that wasn't the desired outcome, although are you wearing your waterproof mascara? good way to test if it works ;) sorry, just trying to make you smile. Best Price is right, things will get sorted and you'll have a lovely day. Actually, thinking about it, weddings are a bit like Xmas, people end up so stressed in the run up they forget to enjoy the day - trust me, couple of glasses of something fizzy on your special day relax and have an amazing time xx
