    Hi everyone,
Ok this could just be a one off a manager making up their own rules but I have just come from a Tesco Express and had an altercation shall we say.

Put my shopping through, handed over a JTD + Receipt & SA says "Sorry we cannot accePt these"

"why" I asked "Because whoever you got it off it is not cocha(!!)

"But I got it from Tesco" I said Supervisor is standing behind SA and says "My manager says we are not to accept these as they are invalid and because it says Tesco on it we have to confiscate it"

"But I got it from Tesco , it is a JTD voucher I got from Tesco because some of the items I bought are dearer than Asda, have Tesco stopped JTD?"

"THey must have erm I don't know. Do you want their CS number?"

"No I want to use my voucher that is mine"

"Sorry you cannot have it back"

So I have left with my shopping - I should have put it back - but I got totally thrown by this. I can't help but think it is a manager taking umbridge to me using vouchers :-/

    Any thoughts?

    Hi FV

I had something similar happen at my local Tesco Express. I wrote to Head Office complaining about how humiliated I was and they sent me a £20 giftcard. The JTD was only £4.00!!:rotfl:

does anyone do the shopandscan research panel?

is it worth it/whats it like? does it take up much time?

    thanks

Is this something new? I do the normal shopandscan but not heard of the research panel. Would be interested to know what it is.

Mmmm interesting BP, do the Expresses not work the same as the big T's?

From both your's and my experiences today, you would think the Expresses were a completley different outfit

Lol...to go back and do what Blue said get my receipt etc or complain to T's....it really threw me today

Complain via email to Uncle phil with a copy to tesco customer service as well.
    Something along the lines of

    Dear Uncle Phil.

I have been a regular shopper of Tesco for years now, but like a load of other customers I am gonna go to Asda for my £200 a week shopping for the following reason:

I went into my local tesco express today to use a Tesco refund the difference voucher cos you admited you ripped me off on my last shop. I was told by the staff that I was using a forged voucher and they not only took the voucher off me but my receipt as well. Not only was I shown up in front of a shop full of other customers, some of who were my neighbours, but I was made to feel like they thought I was a thief, when in fact your staff are the thieves for stealing a receipt which belongs to me and not honouring a voucher which was given to me for your thieving on my previous shop.

The majority of staff at customer service and the tills are miserable and nasty. They are either not well trained or just do not care about Tesco and the reputation you have,. To your staff the customer is always wrong even if it is in black and white (or blue and white on your board behind them). This is obv recognised by you as you have said in recent weeks that you are going to employ a lot more customer service staff as this is where you have gone wrong. The only problem with this is you need to employ nice and pleasant staff who don't think that customers are beneath them.

You think we are all thick and don't understand you putting prices up by double for a month so you can reduce them to half price and pretend your giving us a great deal.

You stopped the double the difference and limited the refund of money you ripped us of by to £20, cos you couldn't back up your promise unlike your rival asda who does not limit their price guarante voucher.

When reading my letter to you I wonder why I ever shopped in tesco in the first place and have not gone to Asda a long time ago like a lot of your customers. IF you want my £200 plus a week shop and to continue trying to rip me off with my shoppping then you have to send me a gift card to the value of 5 weeks shopping (£1,000), an apology and promise me that the staff at the express will give me a full apology, bunch of flowers and free sweets for my kids every day for a year.

I would also like the double points back, competitor conditional spend coupons to be taken again and coupons as cash like before black friday. Finally I would also like double the difference back

Thank you for your time, I await your quick reply otherwise I will give the Sunday Sun a story to write about instead of writing about katie price/Jordan this week (again).

You can obv use as little or as much (wouldn't use too much, you do want a reply) as you want of the above farmville, but make sure you send it tonight or tomorrow whilst it is still fresh in your mind.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

The express stores all have an area manager who looks after them plus a store manager and then various team leaders) (usually staff who have been there a few months/couple of years and are willing to work crappy hours to have a crappy title). The team leaders are often left in charge of the stores especially in the hours that the manager doesn't like working. They are all under the Tesco brand, but have some different offers and prices as you know, but the overall boss of them is Uncle Phil.
