Can I claim the wooden spoon for wombles:D:D:D:p not been very succesful this month total so far 21p:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:and not much since Jan actually. definately won't be getting any A's as they doing road works and got road shut off for 20 weeks:eek: businesses going crazy with complaints as alot of people parked in A's to go to other small shops etc. They redirecting traffic via another route but then taking you an hour just to get out of the carpark not so good with frozen shopping.

Wombling has been really bad this last month hun, probably the rain's fault as receipts disintegrate in rain don't they.

My pile of apg's is going down fast now:(:(

I know what you mean about the traffic redirection being a problem. We had it last year for about 6 months when they had to strengthen a bridge. The problem was an asda was just the other side and it was about a 10 mile detour to go round as it was on a major road route.
It caused lots of problems for asda and all the shops "trapped" the other side as the road was completely closed.

    dishwasher loaded:j morning CW

Sun shone yesterday for my tea on the Thames:j decided to travel home before rush hour good decision as rained from 4pm onwards and never stopped:(.

Regards the tea well we both really enjoyed it (but both decided it was really expensive for £50) if had to pay. It's advertised as luxary but I suppose depends on what you see as luxary:D;) We arrived already informed staff member down, you got to choose what sandwich selection you wanted I asked for water as don't drink tea or coffee (yes DH thinks this hillarious going for afternoon tea when I don't drink the stuff) so they only brought my friend her tea in a cup with a jug of milk, hold on where's the nice pretty teapot in the pic:eek: they did offer her refil when needed. Then the tray of sandwiches and cakes arrived 3 tier high, all very nice, well my bread on the coronation chichen was alittle on the stale side thought maybe left from the day before:eek: but friend just thought they probs prepared a batch and hadn't covered not sure what was worse, all the other choices were fine. They also had strawberries on the plate between some of the cakes and some in a bowl with the jam and cream for scones but these also not very fresh saying that we ate them and enjoyed:D. Their cakes/cheescakes and scones were all very nice well lets say there was none left:D:D:D;). Now to the toilets now my friend rates places on their loos she says if they don't have clean toilets won't say much for their kitchens.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:well out of 2 toilets no loo paper well we were only 2nd guests on that day:eek: reasonably clean but could have been better. Oh and paper tablecloth on table now don't think that luxary:D.

Now with that you probs think we didn't enjoy actually it was very nice watching the boats go by on the Thames it was a lovely afternoon it was more the point of it advertised as luxary you would expect a bit better in presentation. Added to the fact it wasn't costing us anything. We had noticed later on 3 people came in and had the tea but they also got bagels filled as well as sandwiches and looked like a better choice of cakes so maybe it was as we used a voucher.

Just to add they bring a glass to your table with this flower that looks like a dried up walnut and pour in hot water and you watch it unfold now this was fascinating it is a flowering tea which apparently you can drink although friend says it smelt like cats wee:D:rotfl:

We both agreed now Harrods was luxary :D;) but expensive worth it for something really special though:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. She got treated by her daughter for her 50th birthday recently and I was treated by DSIL & Friend for a birthday also but a few years back. Sounds like you also got a fab day planned with your friend:j

Morning all....will try and catch up...just read of your afternoon tea AH, sounds a good day out for you even with the little things that weren't quite right.....when the weather picks up we are venturing to Bakewell for another one for us, it's priced at £59 , wonder what that will be like?
Not been on t'internet much lately , just managing my daily comps ( hate missing those as I'm quite lucky with them, won another £20 Bella Italia voucher on Wed morning, very useful little wins)....the shoes I won are called Keds, never heard of them before but look a nice comfy summer shoe, perfect with jeans , wonder if the weather will ever be nice enough to wear them!!!
Miserable and wet here agin today.......but....much lighter in our sitting room , peeps next door have cut down a 200year old Yew tree, which I loved, but they hated....we have a view now we didn't have before, we could always see across the fields when we were down the bottom of our garden but now we can look over their garden and get the view, we aren't cutting our Yew trees down , we have 6 of them and they are magnificent. They have a 400 year old oak tree in their garden but fortunately it has a conservation order on it....phew!!
Back later as not goig out today and will try a 'post catch up'....
