Well if its the works one let them solve away!

You saying about IE reminded me of somethng jax.I had an issue similar a while ago and it was due to an add on for firefox that allows me to view tabs as if they are in internet explorer.Could that be what their on about?
In firefox only go to tools and add ons then look for internet explorer tabs or something similar. Then click the disable button beside it.Simples.

silly question when did this problem start? If its a really new thing have you tried a system restore point? Other thought if IE is the issue you can always uninstall it the use oldversion.com to get an older version prior to the update.Might be simpler for you than trying to roll back the version.

    Hi FT
I think it is an add on as my friend asked me yesterday if I had this prob. She's had this prob round about the same time as me! We got our comps at the same time and she also added an add-on a few wks ago.

I have gone into tools - manage add-ons and this is what I see for adobe systems incorporated ...

    1. shockwave flash object
    2. shockwave activeX control
    3. adobe pdf reade
    4. adobe pdf link helper

    ALL ENABLED
Could it be one of these?
    ..............................................................

    System restore point

I was actually trying to do this but can't work out how, or how far back to go. lol

    ................................................................................

uninstall IE and use oldversion.com to get an older version.

How do I find out what IE version I am using? I'm away to try and find out what version.

    Ta much

i can find system restore in 2 ways
    1st: click start bottom left
    click programs
    then accessories, then system tools
in drop down list you should then see system restore

    2nd:
    click start bottom left
    click settings
    control panel
mine say backup & restore center click on that or similar
mine has create restore point on left

you'd need to restore to before you had problems

not sure about finding IE version
    try
    click start bottom left
    control panel
programs & feature( or simalar) it maybe listed there

i use this free site to change/updated my stuff
    http://www.filehippo.com/

not that techie minded but if its add ons, i've just right clicked on the IE short cut on my pc and theres an option to start without add ons.

I don't have add ons at work.

But discovered today, it is certain PDFs that I have downloaded and saved that do not open. so have deleted them and will try again.

For IE - go to Help or if you have IE9, which I suspect you have, click on the cog at the end, and then click on about internet explorer.

That will tell you what version you have.

sorry everyone should have explained properly this morning, but I wasn't taking an exam, I was invigilating.

Interesting though, it told me a lot about what needs to be taught to the people have to take the exam, before they do it. Stuff to help them pass.

Thank you though, all, for your good wishes :D maybe they will help all those who took the exam to pass :)
