A) Request a Mod to move this to the correct section. Alot more people there can offer you alot more responces.
You have mobiles. TV/BB/HP are a luxury and they are things you can go without for a hort while. You will probably get the same when this topic moves to the correct section.
They can advise on how to get BB and HP cheaply while you sort out your finances. Along with other gems of advice.
I keep typing responces instead of responses!
sorry i didnt know where else to put this, what is the right section?Member #64 £2012 in 2012 challenge total so far: £714.54/£20120 -
Food could come down a bit. Do you have a garden, to grow a few salads and veg, the odd bit of soft fruit.
Can you re-negotiate your sky package and get a cheaper deal.
Can you bring in more income - car boots, ebay etc. - a couple of car boots should help you raise the £150 for your husband's ID card.
Can you get a lodger for a while.
Re the car - it seems a pity to throw away the deposit you've paid. Could you perhaps "Lay Up" the insurance and road tax rather than cancelling everything - taking the car off the road just for a month or two. Perhaps you wouldn't lose the deposit that way. (Don't forget to tell the DVLA though - you can get heavily fined if you don't tell them - even if your car is in a garage or parked on your drive).
You may well find that you really do need the car, especially if your DH gets a job soon.
Charity shops for clothes.
Well done on the DIY hair cuts.0 -

we live in a flat with no outside space so we cant grow anything more than a few window plants
the only things we have left to sell is DD old clothes and i have a few old clothes that i have from years ago that will never fit again, i have listed these on fb. but i have sold everything else that we can as ive been clearing out the flat to make space for the baby
we dont have a spare bedroom to get a lodger and when the baby comes it will be a squeeze
what does 'laying up' the car insuarence and road tax mean?Member #64 £2012 in 2012 challenge total so far: £714.54/£20120 -
Have you got any jewellery you can sell, or games consoles, or a decent tv?
I would ebay what you can. Has your 3 year old got any toys she won't miss to pay for her trousers?
It might be that you could find a job as soon as baby is born and your OH could be a house husband, or could he consider finding work elsewhere for the moment and send money home to you, what does he do?0 -
http://www.cheap-family-recipes.org.uk/ was set up by a member of MSE, and is very good.0

If you are on Facebook, they quite often have local pages with people selling stuff, maybe look on there for clothes.0

Look around a car boot for new clothes for DD. Also I think you are entitled to free milk as you have an under 5.0

Are you certain that you are claiming everything you are entitled to? Your income seems very low

I'd definately get rid of the car. You dont NEED it desperately and tbh, you cant afford it. Selling it will give you a bit of a cushion in emergency savings, plus your monthly expenditure will be much, much lower. In your position I'd be looking to do it straight away - ie. this weekend!0 -
Is EDF your cheapest supplier? Could you switch? If you do then go via TopCashBack and get some cashback, can make quite a bit through them.Don't Throw Food Away Challenge January 2012 - £0.17 / £10
