  • jodie: I took out £50 a couple weeks ago, it was issued i payed back the £14.75 and was due to pay £64.75 today i noticed this mornig that the funds hadnt come out of my bank, i went to go into my online acount and it wouldnt let me access my online account saying that my email address isnt registered with you, so i phoned up to be told that my account had been closed by you, i asked how i would go about paying the £65.75 that i owe today and they said that my account balance is £0.00 and i owe nothing. i dont understand this? so are you just simply writing off what i owe you? i have asked them to send me confirmation via email and havent yet recieved anything. i am unsure what to do now?

  • Jodie I had almost the exact same conversation...it seems extremely dodgy to me and I just know I will end up with a call in a few weeks telling me I owe them even more money. No idea what to do.

I'd be willing to bet that QQ have just had a new computer system installed which has made everything go t*ts-up or that their existing system has crashed. Therefore all the 'phone bods have to go on is incorrect data.

You're doing exactly the right thing by saving the records of your conversations/livechats and by keeping the money to one side so that it can be repaid if it's called for. Beyond this to cover yourself - and your efforts to inform them of their error, there isn't a great deal more than you can do.

Just don't spend the cash needed to pay them back! ;)

    Best wishes. xx

Make sure you keep written evidence so that if(when) they say you've defaulted and they bang ridiculous chaarges on, you can go back at them and get the record set straight.

  • I have kept a copy of the instant message conversation I had with a member of their staff and taken a screenshot of their money going into my bank account. When I call them tomorrow I will ask for a letter to be sent to my house confirming my balance (but I'm guessing this will not happen).

Do they have to provide paperwork by law? I would still be perfectly happy paying off the original amount + interest owed by 30th March (my second and final payment date), but if they charge more default fees on top of this, surely this breaches some sort of rule?

Sounds odd, 1 chat member says its currently in default and another LIVE chat says the account is closed and the account has been written off. Not sure what else you could do, keep copies of the LIVE chat but i think your doing that already.

Surprised the loan has been written off if true.

It's definitely not in default, my first payment was only due today, and my final payment isn't due until the 30th. It seems like they have screwed up, but I still feel like I am the one who will get screwed over.

I have kept a record of every live chat so far, not much else I can do apart from phoning them and recording the call. Is this a good idea?

It almost sounds like they have written it off as a defaulted account that never had any payments made.
Think i'd be worried about the bailiff letters and defaults appearing on my credit file.
Of course, that's only vague speculation on my part
