Orange mobile bill

Hi
My son has a contract with Orange of £15 a month, his bill for February was £50.56. Having looked at the itemised bill there are several photo messages to numbers that he doesn't recognise, I have queried these with Orange because a) He says he never sends photo messages and b) he doesn't recognise the numbers and neither does his phone. They have told me that a) even sending a smiley can be included as a photo message depending on hand phone and b) the messages are definately sent from his sim card. He has also been charged for going over on his data which they say has been charged at a flat rate of £1 per day for any day he has used data after his allowance has been used up.
What I want to know is should they be able to provide more evidence of the data used and can they prove that the messages to unknown numbers were definately from his phone.
Any advice on how to dispute this bill would be helful.
Thanks.

A) Dial the numbers he sent to and find out who they are.
Ask Orange to give you the websites he has been visiting.
C) What type of phone is it? Could be that the phone has some apps accessing the net.
D) It is very likely that they were sent from his phone.
E) Usually theyve been doing sexting and stuff on the phone. Might be wrong though.0 -

Thanks for your replies.
He has a Galaxy Fit, he claims he switched his internet off once he was over data allowance.
I will get him to check out his apps to make sure they are not accessing the net without him knowing.
Yes, I just might try phoning some of the numbers.0 -
My nephew has just got one of these Orange deals , sounds like the same one (or similar?) at about £15 a month!
He's found it incredibly easy to rip through his allowance long before the month is up , he now owes over £12 on his deal with another week to go!
It all seems damned expensive to me , but he did get a nice phone though , Motorola Defy I think , pity he can't use it much ...0 -
I guess we would be able to help more by knowing what you are getting with the deal data wise, how many minutes you need and what you have set up for home Internet. The Galaxy Fit supports WiFi so this should be a priority when at home near a router. I would have said due to the apps available that 500mb would work well. It isn't a heavy data phone. In the settings if your son limits how often his email updates, downloads apps through wifi only and keeps track of it 250mb is even manageable. I hate using non wifi it's just way too temprental (sp?). Is your son on sim only or a contract?0
