Phones4u

Went in a store the other day - looking for an iPhone 4s - got a month and a half left on my O2 cheap simplicity contract.

Phones4u offered to pay up my old deal + give me £60 - works out at about £100.

Is that a good deal for me? Contracts options is £37.00 for all the usage I need (900 mins) 24 month - or £47 a month for an 18 month contract.

Guessing it's the same if I go through Phones4u as if I buy direct from O2?

Not really sure what to do - figured maybe ringing when I have a month left on my contract was a good method... will O2 play ball and offer me something ace at that stage?

Generally the deal O2 will be able to offer would beat whatever Phones4u could. In addition, if you go down the route of suggesting you might go elsewhere, O2 may sweeten the deal further. It's certainly worth a bit of research on other deals on the market (particularly other network offerings), and using these to bargain. Good luck!

02 are not playing ball at the moment, as I have tried to upgrade my contract. I'm on £46 per month, discounted from £70, unlimited minutes, unlimited texts, and 1gb of data, and they won't give me an I-Phone for an update.

The last girl I spoke to even said that their own staff can't get what I've got and that I should continue with what I've got.

I must say that purchasing my own phone is definitely an option, as the unlimited deal as what I need.

    I shall wait.
That's my mutt in the picture above.

Be careful with phones 4 u. Not everything is how it seems with them! If you have a problem with the handset you will have to fight tooth and nail for them to care. If you do take the deal- do not take the insurance with them- even if they offer it free for a few months. there insurance is very bad!!

  • I always look at what they offer on TopCashback. If Three offers £100 for a direct connection you can bet they are paying a phone retailer a similar amount of commission for connecting you! You may find that signing up to a deal through TopCashback will yield more money than you have left to pay on your contract! (well eventually since the money isn't instant).
