Why should I make their job easier by pointing out every little fault,

Because it's the honest thing to do when there's a material fault. The fact they're a dealer is neither here nor there, it's still deceitful to try and slip a known fault that needs attention (as opposed to some cosmetic problem or other) past them.

Lying by omission is STILL lying. As I said earlier, a sad reflection on today's society

Oh, and I'm not "sticking up for dealers", I just detest liars ;)

The dealer is already building a contingency in for repairs. Nobody trades in a car that is perfect, otherwise they'd not be trading it in, they'd either be keeping it or selling it privately. A £4k trade in that needs a couple of hundred spending on it and can be sold on for up to £6k is a lot more interesting to them than if I just made up the £4k in cash. In pointing out any minor niggles, I'd just be giving them excuses to double up on their contingency, effectively charging me twice for potential and actual repairs, and screwing even more money out of me than they already are doing. Your sympathy is misplaced.

Let me know if you're ever selling your house though, I'm sure you will spend every minute of your viewing pointing out every single niggle to the viewers (as I said, I've done over 20 viewings and not one person has ever said one bad thing about their house, despite me being able to see many).

Oh, and before you cry a river for the dealer, one of the 2 issues I had is resolved now, and not as expensive as I thought.

Didn't even get that far, after all that it was in worse condition than mine! :rotfl:
