Help! Macbook Pro Lion OS crashing

What do Apple say about your problem? As a very 'image conscious' company that charge way over the odds for their equipment, I'd ask them first. I'm sure they won't like the idea of the #1 consumer forum in the UK carrying *any* suggestion that their products suck in any way, so seriously - ask them what is going on with you MBP.0

My MBP crashes quite a lot since upgrading to Lion and the iCloud, is there any particular reason for this, it drives me mad. That 500GB hard drive is very full and I have tried to weed out unwanted stuff, should just change it maybe to a solid state drive. I keep regular backups to a remote HD and online so I feel fairly safe if it's the hard drive starting to fail or should I r-format and install the system anew? any help much appreciated.
If you have any doubt about what you're doing or what could be wrong, I think you're best bet is to take your Mac to the nearest Apple shop after a booking an appointment at the Genius Bar. They should be able to sort you out.0 -
m5rcc - sorry I wasn't very clear. I know he's currently got an HDD. He's got a full 500gb HD that he wants to replace with an SSD, I'm not sure if a 500gb SSD exists yet, and if it does, it'll be pricey!
Anyway, I don't think this is a problem that money should simply be thrown at. If there's a software problem it'll continue to exist if the system is cloned to a new disk. I'd do the check permissions thing, and if that doesn't work, I'd be testing the HDD. Random pauses could be caused by the drive repeatedly trying to access data, and that could be the first signs of a failing drive. By the time you've finished reading this, you should already have initiated a backup...0 -

750GB SSDs exist but very dear.
My first piece of advice if you scroll up was to backup and remove from hard drive and run IceClean. OP suggested your point. I said you could do, and while you are at it, upgrade to 8GB.0
