Injector blown from head.

  • Must have over tightened it, the retention bolt head sheared off.

Never replaced the copper washer when doing the seals, so it probably didnt seal right.

I've not checked the bonnet for a dent, think the metal pipe supplying the injector stopped it (its got a nice wee kink in it now).

If my local motor factor has bosch leak off connections (one of them has broke a piece off), I should hopefully have it fixed tomorrow.

Thats it fixed, looks like vibrations caused the little bracket that holds the injector down to damage the bolt then the pressures snapped it.

Got the leak off connections from a breakers yard as no-one locally stocked/could get them.

    well done
the other thing is you would probably have found the new leak of pipes were rubbish anyway they seem to be made of material that diesel doesnt like
a bit like those o rings not made of proper rubber

so your second hand ones are probably going to be better in the long term

They seem to be dated? 12 01 marked on one with the replacements (from a rover 75) marked 01 00.

When I was looking online, I found brass ones which may be an option in the future.
