Sony Xperia Active — which stores have live demos?
I'm looking for a store in London that stocks the Sony Xperia Active, to try a live demo before buying it (just to make sure I like it in real life).
Do any of you know?
Sony's customer service is one of the worst in the world. I contacted them via email asking about this. They did not know. I started a live chat, and they didn't know anything. Supposedly a manufacturer does not know where they are selling their products at all :rotfl:
I guess the support doesn't know any of this, but they also didn't know which department of theirs to refer my query onto. So literally, hit a brick wall. Frankly, I could tell they just didn't care or want to help.

And what if there are no shops selling it? Many handsets are not available from UK retailers. Many are available online only.0

I don't know as I've not been there in months but maybe try Westfield and also Sony stores, the Carphone Warehouse in Westfield Shepherds bush tends to have quite a few handsets to play with though weather or not they are actually working is another issue- never been to that store and had more then 50% of the displays working!
Also try Phones 4U as quite often if your serious they get a tester out to show you how it all works. Not sure if they have this handset or not though.0 -

I did read that the networks were reducing the number of SE phones (with vodafone not stocking any of them) and a quick look at the network pages seems to confirm it's not being stocked in the UK by any of them at the moment.
Xpansys does not seem to stock it Sim Free so you may be out of luck getting this in the UK to look at, as it's likely to be a special order.
It's not suprising the maker does not know who sells it, they will sell it to a distibuter who will then sell it on to others, it's not likely they'll deal direct with stores, and given the main networks don' seem to stock it it won't be a big seller.0 -
Sony has dropped the Ericsson brand so most Sony Ericsson branded phones (which includes the Xperia Active) will be discounted and dropped from the range offered my the main suppliers.
I think you will be hard pushed to find any shops with them on demo. A quick search on Carphonewarehouse and Phones4U doesn't even list it.
If you do find one, haggle on the price.0 -

Nice! I will wait. It costs about £200 now.
Or otherwise just get an iPhone :P0 -

Yeah but the deal with unsupported mobiles though is they stop updates -or at least cut back on them, your handset may last a year or so but as updates may not be as frequent or as current, you may notice the difference and even feel like your losing out. Added to that you may not be able to sell it on as easily after you've used it.
But if its where your heart's set...0 -

They have done away with Ericsson, think i read somewhere that Sony have actually taken over the company. The above was on Orange's web site as new phones cumming soon but for some reason it has disappeared from there site, i quiet fancied one of there phones so hope they come back as i'm due for a upgrade soon.0
