well, it refers to a contract signed away from a trader's normal place of business, as per the OP's question. In this case, the judge has ruled that "an excursion" was a journey away from the company's registered premises. The confusion, as i see it, is that they mutually agreed to meet at the third party premises. However there was no coach or transport provided by the hire car company to get the signatory to the garage - the two parties travelled there by their own means.

The credit hire organisation had organised the signing of the agreement at the repair garage.

and that is the crux.. The credit hire company had organised it with the customer.

Possibly if the OP had been invited by the trader then that may fall within this decision
