Youre wasting your time because you lash out. You could have simply ADDED that they can cancel their DD and pay by card. Instead you call that "useless advice". Youre like one of those grumpy old men off the tele scaremongering everyone.

Nothing is assumed in the post. Youre ignorant for assuming that. Why should I explain to you? Clearly you havent worked in a complaints department in your life to know exactly what happens and what kind of situations occur.

Oh by the way, that person you quoted, read what he wrote. He didnt even make late payment and vodafone did something to his credit file. So obviously theres more to it that what you quote. Want me to cherry pick sentences too? It will totally kill whatever argument you have going. There is no point.

    FACT -

OP is concerned they might make him pay an extra month on his contract. Cancell the DD, make any payments you do owe by card, tell them not to keep your card details for future payments, ring them and file a note on your account to state that systems were down. Make sure you ring them every hour incase theyre back up. Keep an eye for that PAC code and if it hasnt arrived let them know.

Again, if you have not heard, this doesn't mean that this is the case. I know that many online bookies routinely do this.

OMG when did i say this isnt the case? I KNOW this happens. In the world of telecommunications, I have not heard of this happening WITHOUT CONSENT. They CANNOT retain it WITHOUT permission. Its like talking to a 3 year old explaining everything.

F*** online bookies. Im talking about phone companies ATM.

If you want to boil water you say use a kettle. You dont start off buy saying ...So what you need is a kettle. A kettle does blah blah and you get it from blah and then you fill it with blah and plug it in etc etc.

OP youve had your answer mate. Im out :)
EDIT - Its dumb to say dont cancel a DD it will kill your credit rating. It does no such thing.
Cancell DD, pay by card. Done.

wapow, I also think your advice is poor. I would strongly urge other forum members to read around before taking your advice.

Cancel DD and pay by Card. Bad Advice - Staple of MSE.
    Too many scared old people.
Get into a dispute of charges and LISTEN to what they advise you about your DD when you ask them about it. - Hint - Youve already read about it here/.
