Weekend in London - Any advice?

Hi there,
I'm planning a Friday day (this friday), eve & Sat day in London.
Before I book a last minute top secret type hotel, whereabouts should I try and stay? They all say, near st. pauls, near tower bridge etc. but I'm not sure where roughly to aim for?
What time do the tubes stop?
Are there places to leave baggage?
Where are the trendy areas to go at night for a few beers and a wander round? I've been to Covent Garden before and I like the loads going on / street performers etc. type vibe.
Where is a good area to go for breakfast? Are there markets on a Saturday?
Forgive dumb questions. I don't get out much and I'll probly be like Borat in the city on Friday.
Thanks!!
xx

Last tubes from Central London 12:15 to 12:30
British Rail termini have left luggage facilities0 -
It's expensive to leave luggage at the station - but you can do. I can't remember if it's £7 or £13 per item. I'd just pack light and check in as soon as you can (or if it's a nice hotel you could leave it with them)!
In terms of location - as long as you're Central you should be ok. I'm sure you'll be able to find nice pubs/bars close to the hotel as they are everywhere! I'm not a Londoner, so don't know specific areas!Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93
Crazy Clothes Challenge # 103 - £84/£200 £30 Coat/£12 shirt/£23 jeans/£6 t-shirt/£13 2 x tops

Try to stay near Covent Garden, Leicester Square area. Search lastminute.com; on the left of the page click on top secret hotels only, at the top click on distance from Covent Garden. Go to Time Out London; search for bars, restaurants, clubs etc by area Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Piccadilly.0

You can leave baggage at your hotel , they usually have a room for safe keeping . SoHo is a great place for wandering around at night , you dont need to stay in the area its noisy and hotels are expensive . If you plan on staying out after the last tube runs , most places arent far to walk .
Borough market is on a saturday , but thats food mainly . Camden market / Town is always worth a visit , you can can a tube in , but need to leave from Mornington Crescent , its not far ( it was closed last time we were there so had to carry on to Euston )Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
Tip 1 - check TFL website as there are often tube closures at the weekend.
Tip 2 - Official baggage storage place - eg at train stations - are very pricey. A great tip I was once given was, if you go to one of the free museums/galleries e.g. the Tate, or Natural History Museum, as long as you don't have a massive suitcase or anything - leave your bags in the cloakroom and pick them up at the end of the day.
Tip 3- Try Dishoom near Leicester Square tube for a unique Indian style breakfast.
The Breakfast Club has several locations: http://www.thebreakfastclubcafes.com/locations/
It's a great place for breakfast.
Tip 4 - Islington is a good area to go for a few beers. Also check out Fitzrovia, some good pubs there.
Tip 5 - check out the Time Out London website, or but the magazine, for lots of useful general info and details of events taking place this weekend.Hi there,
