I was in a bad way last week after a very bad day I had to make my way up to Scotland from my home in Cornwall. It was a family crisis and I set off late in the day.I stopped at Welcome Break Michaelwood north bound services on the M5 , it was 23:43 when I entered the car park I needed to sleep. The place was empty but I did see the sign for a 2 hour limit or else pay for overnight parking. It was my intention to go within the time limit but after such a hard day I slept right through to 8 next morning.I got the letter from Parking Eye car park management demanding £60 by Wednesday 14 March or it will increase to £90+£20 admin charge.Should I pay the £60 or appeal?I'm on sickness benefits and can't afford it my medication makes me tired too.
A PPC is not just for Christmas...with a few CCJ threats you should have enough toilet paper to last well into the new year.....

Not sure what happened to your post, but the end got chopped off between me reading it and attampting a response. Anyway ...Should I pay the £60 or appeal?
Check out the stickies in this forum, it'll prepare you for what further letters to expect. Worry not about whether you can pay, as you don't owe them anything. And don't worry about the increasingly hysterical and threatening letters you'll receive. They are all bluster.0 -
Many thanks for your advice.....I'll spend the rest of the evening reading the stickies and posts here...
Not sure what happened to my post either?.A PPC is not just for Christmas...with a few CCJ threats you should have enough toilet paper to last well into the new year.....0 -
Parking Eye = completely useless. They will do nothing other than supply you with toilet paper.
Just wait for them to go away. They will. They always do once they realise they can't scam you into paying.0 -

Their "toilet paper" is reminiscent of Izal much favoured by my old gran:rotfl: thank goodeness for Andrex...A PPC is not just for Christmas...with a few CCJ threats you should have enough toilet paper to last well into the new year.....0 -
Yes, also reminds me of the "Bronco" we had when I was a boy....
We need to ask the Office of Fair Trading to require debt collectors to use soft absorbent paper for their letters, much kinder to our bottoms..0 -
I don't remember Bronco but I do remember Izal, gawd, it was like lard paper.....................make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Some fascinating threads on this forum, they have made me think back to a few years ago when I got a letter from APOCA ...at the time I had a blue badge as I was on chemo....I wrote to them with copies of my badge and tax disc (disabled) and I got let off with it ...surely that must be a rarity?
I also wonder how much they actually make from people that pay up straight away......A PPC is not just for Christmas...with a few CCJ threats you should have enough toilet paper to last well into the new year.....0 -
Yes, they got a severe warning from the British Parking Association and were nearly expelled... breach of Rule 37 (b) 3: "Under no circumstances must any Appeal ever be upheld."
And, unfortunately, there are still enough people out there falling for the scam to give them a healthy profit... though we are doing our best...0
