Beware Trivago. The Venice Lido hotel I booked turned out to be in Southern Italy. A highly rated hotel at an unbeatable price comes up on the Trivago search in Lido Venice available through Booking.com. If you select the deal and book, you end up in a hotel with a similar name in a completely different part of Italy. Fortunately, the hotel in Southern Italy emailed me to query the booking, as they have had previous problems with booking.com. reservations.
So the problem just goes on and on as Trivago ignore all correspondence.
Booking.com are powerless to intervene as their listings are correct - it is Trivago who are linking to the wrong hotel on the booking.com website.
