Hmmm, I just tried the 'Any 2 for £6' promotion online. It works if 2 different items are in my basket (& nothing else), but once I start adding other bits & pieces, the difference doesn't get deducted.

The 'Any 2 for £3' fruit offer works, however.
  • I now shop in Sainsburys where the staff are always pleasant, friendly and helpful :)

You must not live anywhere near my town... The staff in the Sainsburys here think they are royalty... ask them a question and they look at you as if you have just asked for their dress size...

To be fair, no matter where you go now, customer service has slipped. And this isn't the staff (for the most part, I admit there does seem to be the odd member of staff who gets off on being a grade A bum wipe), but the company at fault, who give the staff targets, and threatens them with job losses if targets aren't met (less refunds etc). They also seem to be changing their policies every 5 minutes... Soon shops won't accept returns unless their is something actually at fault with the product.

Tesco have been doing this for years. I remember buying some sausages when the offer said any two for £3. Checked my receipt in store and found I'd been charged full price for both. The CS woman said it was because I had bought one pack of Lincolnshire and one pack of pork & herbs. I said that wasn't what the ticket said but she was adamant so I made her take both packs back and give me a full refund. Prices have risen so high now we should check our receipts every time, and before leaving the store to save making another journey. It's helpful to put all your special offers, BOGOFFs and reduced price items last on the conveyor belt, then they're at the bottom of the receipt and easier to check.
