Tesco warning

Tesco seem to have changed their attitude regards items that are mis-priced.
I was shopping at my local tesco's at the weekend and purchased two packs of fresh meat both labelled with the any 2 for £6 promotion.
After paying I left the store and went home, however upon reviewing the receipt it appeared that the promotional discount had not been applied.
I returned to the store and after checking that I hadn't missed any t&c's - I hadn't - I went and queued up at the CS desk.
All I wanted to do was pay £6 as per the labelling, but the CS person basically said that the offer only related to two items the same, to which I said that wasn't in line with any definition of the word 'Any'.
In any event Tesco were not willing to honour the labelled price, which is AFAIK fair enough. So I asked them for a refund on one of the packs of meat and that they take all of the other meat off display until it was relabelled. Which surprisingly they agreed to.
I contacted Tesco's main CS department and asked for clarification, which was pretty much as I had been told in store.
So be very careful with the multi buy offers and always check that the savings had been applied.
Oh I did ask if they would be willing to let me buy another pack of meat at a price that honoured the any 2 for £6 offer, to which they refused. So I went and returned the other pack of meat before taking advantage of shopping at sainsburys.
I would ask what has been gained here. I managed to buy what I wanted at exactly the same price that Tesco were labelling it at. Tesco have lost a customer and have had goods returned that are in effect unsaleable.

Is that the Sainsburys price match? Am I right in thinking you were not able to get a 'live' price reduction at Sainsburys, but a voucher equivalent to the saving off your next shop?0 -
I don't know if this is a new thing for Tesco but I returned some clothes at the weekend and didn't have my receipt - still had all the labels etc on though.
I was told that I had to choose another item of clothing only as they couldn't issue a refund or a refund card to spend in store.
I'm sure this hasn't happened in the past and I have just been given a refund card to spend in store0 -
I bought two loaves of hovis bread which were 2 for £2 but was overcharged. I took my receipt to CS and they said that you couldn't mx and match the bread you had to get two of exactly the same which is not what the label said.0

They had a rough equivalent in 3 stickered items for £10

That is what they told me, however there were no t&c's anywhere explaining that.
Although I did check when I returned the second pack of meat and they have it on one of the small red labels on the shelf now.0 -
Interesting. Perhaps they are finding that times are hard, now that they have to pay all their staff.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

I've just been to the Tesco online site, and when you add 2 of the Any 2 for £6 items to your basket, it gives the saving. I added bacon and gammon. Strange that online it allows you. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0

Sounds typical of the so called 'customer service' I would expect from Tesco.
They lost me as a Customer many years ago. I now shop in Sainsburys where the staff are always pleasant, friendly and helpful
(and the basics products are really good too :money:)

Maybe they think people buy Tesco clothes with tags on ebay for a lower price and try to exchange them to get more money.0
