Being with t-MOBILE -one2one same account for 8 years but now I see that 3 network have some very good competive plans which on contract I can save £15 a month.
my only worry is are they reliable and what is coverage like here in uk and germany-italy where I travel frequent.
Is customer sevice UK based and ok.
Any comments appreciated-thanks.

I took out the £15 per month deal out last week and the reception is good in scotland so far and the Sony K610i seems a good enough phone for me.

I got £70 cashback via quidco and £30 refferal bonus using a number from someone on here.

I could do the same for you if you wish.(just pm me)

The sales follow up i got was uk based but I believe customer care is India based.

    cheers

  • You can check UK/abroad coverage via the link below:

    http://www.three.co.uk/personal/coverage_/index.omp

When you are outside 3's UK video area the handset will roam so it will depend on the roaming network's coverage. In the UK 3 is in the process of changing from O2 to Orange.

When you are in Italy you can receive calls for free if you roaming on 3 and use your inclusive allowance to make calls back to the UK.

In Germany you will have to pay 30p/min to receive and 80p/min to call.

    Hope this helps
  • They have been brilliant for me. It's great they piggyback o2 and orange, orange only some time this year, as it means better signal because you have 2 networks to choose from.

Other good news for you is that three are actually in Italy so signal is great and all your minutes/texts/data are charged the same as if your in the UK so you can just use your inclusive allowance = FREE!! I've just got back from Tuscany and can confirm this works perfectly!!

  • My wife and I have been with 3 for the last one year. I renewed my contract last month. Been very happy with their services. Excellent reception which is as good if not better than my friends mobiles in other networks.

Have to say I'm happy with 3, had a slight blip on coverage at workplace, but now better than ever. Been on them for about 4 yrs now, usually with 2 contracts on the go. Cashback of course...

I was incredibly concerned about them especially as I worked in telesales over the summer, with endless tales of 3 being 'crap'. To the contrary, I'm quite impressed with them. Signal strength is practically full most of the time, wherever I am, including certain places where others can't get signal (for some reason at my Uni, people on orange have horrendous coverage for example!)

Voice calls don't drop, though they have strangely disconnected once or twice. Their customer service is good-though I've not had to deal with something too complicated yet. For example though, my phone that came was faulty, they sent a new one immediately which arrived the next day! That was great-I wasn't without a phone at all. And they also offer a 3 day turnaround for repairs which is good.

So basically, for now, I'm quite pleased with them. The only problems I'm having are with the phones they supplied-I went for a refurb N73, which arrived with a broken button. Then the replacement has a technical fault. I suggest not bothering saving an extra couple of months worth of half price rental like I did, if it involves a refurb phone.
