Driving License Revoked
Comments

I believe you'll have a 3 year old licence. Just as Full Entitlement part of a licence category can be revoked, it can also be reinstated again. It is still the same licence.
What I am certain about is that you weren't banned from driving, that's utter rubbish.
I'm not that surprised by the insurance not going up that much. It's only two minor speeding offences at the end of the day. If you had been truly banned or had your licence revoked for a more serious offence like dodgy driving then you would feel it a lot more.0 -

Total rubbish. DVLA have revoked the licence which is not a ban. The OP then had to get a provisional licence to be able to retake his test. Only a court can ban/disqualify a person from driving."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Seems I can't apply my 3 years no claims discount either, if I say I have a new license as each comparison site says I cant have that amount of NCD as I've only just started driving
I suppose will be become clear when I receive the license in the post. Fingers crossed it won't be "new".
It will be "new".
Another poster has had this experience and it was a "new" licence he got.
So your "licence held since..." will be "now" and not 3 years ago.

my daughters earned no claims when she had a provisional driver, you should still be able to declare 3yrs no claims since you have still been a provisional driver even when your licence was revoked.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -

So if he was 'banned' ie disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence. How come he was issued with a provisional licence after the revocation?0 -
Look at it from the insurers point of view - his driving was so bad (criminal offences, note), that he got 6 points in a short space of time and was sent back to school.
Does this mean that he is a higher risk driver? Of course it does. Are they entitled to know this? Of course they are."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -

Irrelevant,
If the form asks, have you ever been banned then the OP's honest answer is no. Legally he is giving the correct answer, that is all that matters.
OP I believe your licence will count as a new licence as you have had a provisional licence again but if you have 3 years no claims then you have 3 years no claims - I'd call the insurer up and discuss it with them, loads of people will have been through the same process so they will be able to advise you best.0 -
As it's all about risk, it's not irrelevant.Irrelevant
That's for an online quotation. The formats employed are very rigid. If the OP were to actually ring the insurer and give the full details, the answer would certainly be very different. If the form asks, have you ever been banned then the OP's honest answer is no. Legally he is giving the correct answer, that is all that matters.
Note that they always say that if in any doubt, ring them to clarify. It doesn't sound much, but legally, it's quite important.
In any event, is it honestly being suggested that 6 penalty points and multiple convictions are going to be viewed with complete indifference by an insurer?"Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -

It is irrelevant as far as the OP is concerned as he has not been banned, so:
The answer to the question of being banned is 'No'.
The answer to the question of convictions is 'Yes'.0
